Help Identifying a table

I have had this table for close to 20 years. When we originally bought it it had a green latex paint that I believe was used for a card or game table due to the tacky paint application. I do not believe the paint was original as it was painted into scrapes and dings. I forgot to get a picture of the table before stripping off the paint. Once I got the paint off I found a veneer on table top that I am not 100% sure is original either. Under the veneer I believe there are poplar (due to the green hue to the wood) slats.

The table has a mechanical butterfly leaf system that the mechanical parts are stamped SENG Chicago and below that is the manufacture mark that I cannot quite make out. Any help on understand any history on this table will be helpful. I can't wait to see what it looks like when I finish restoring the table.

I believe it's slightly earlier than mid century....by that i mean 1950....I would date it about 35 to 40. Originally veneered....trash wood, with knots etc under the veneer that was never meant to be exposed. You have destroyed any value it had by removing the veneer.

I don't believe it's a gate leg table as suggested by Judy G...it appears to have leaves that are stored in the table and emerge from the middle, am I right?
I can't imagine why it was painted with green latex....but people do strange things. It was a nice table, before you removed the veneer. That wood under the veneer with the lack of figure and the knots will never be "furniture wood"...it looks to be a nice useful sturdy table.....I think your best choice would be to paint it....but not with green latex....

Take a piece of paper and a soft pencil or piece of chalk and do a tracing of the name. It might provide the furniture company that sold it.

I suggest you follow up with Seng. The parts may be worth more, historically, than the table, as is. I recognize the legs of the table you posted. Usually found in summer cottages, left overs from the 30’s, and not of any value.

Looks ya like Pennsylvania Dutch to me, or maybe Amish? I would price it at $175 and take the best offer. You don't need to sell to the 1st person who makes an offer. Simply tell them you're hoping to get a little more, but if you can't will sell to them. This style is great for anyone wanting to do a cottage kitchen with painted white furniture~yes, more than likely it will be painted. This may be the person willing to give you the best price. I could not find any marking on it. Drawers are nailed together, no doors, just the two front drawers. Has some carvings and inlay wood. Was purchased in Italy, not sure it is from Italy. Yes floor is title, one of our favorite things about this house.

Looks like "Angel" which might be the name for the extension style (does it have the wings that pop out?).

If it's a midcentury or later table, it might have originally had a laminate top. It wasn't always considered a low-end feature. It was new and modern (as well as a darn good surface to have on a table).

At first I thought "Angel" but then realized there was a letter that to my eyes appears to be an "a".

I could see painting just the top black. The legs cleaned up nicely and it has nice touches like the clipped corners.

That name on the wood looks like 'Angea' to me...

Me too however there are a lot of what appear to be letter indentations below that and perhaps one letter after which is why I suggested the tracing. I looked for Angea and Hngea both and found nothing.
