Help identify dropleaf table and chairs

Hi - I have a old table and chair set that I don't know how to identify. It was given to me around 1988 dirty and almost black from storage. It came from a friends Great Grandmother then so I assumed it might be very old. The only identifier is the #3014 written under the table top (bottom side).

4 chairs, 2 leaves (one damaged). The table is undamaged, though old.

I stripped it in '88' and the color was lovely so it didn't require stain. I applied several coats of polyurethane, and used it in my New York City Apartment for about 15 years. Now its just sitting in storage and I would like to sell it.

I am not looking to make a fortune but wondering what style it is, year if possible, and approx. selling price. Any help would be most appreciated.

Looks like 1950s maple ... vaguely "country" styling.

Call it "Cottage" and list it for $100 and be willing to take $50-75

Here's the economics: You got it for free, cleaned it and varnished it and used it for 15 years. Right now it's costing you money for space to store it.

Giving it away would not lose money, $50 would be a profit.

You might not find anything - many older pieces are pretty unique, and no one has put most of them on the internet. Don't quote me on this, but the wood grain to me suggests pine on the legs, and on the top, possibly plywood over hardwood - you can sometimes see the board edges through the stain if this is the case. Together this would make it a less valuable piece, and probably from the 30-40s. It's a cute little thing and practical, nothing to be embarrassed about having in the house, but not heirloom quality (and even with heirloom quality, if you don't have space you don't have space). Hi Folks, Thank you all for responding. I think it is a lovely table and as long as it is in good shape when I go to see it I am sure I will take it home with me. I have been in contact with the seller who is away until the 6th of January. That fits my time frame very well. My hope is that I will be able to use the table on a day to day basis with one leaf in but with the sides down. That way it will be perfect for just my husband and I but easy to put up one or both of the sides when we have friends stop by. My current table is used for every meal, everyday as well as for larger numbers, family visits and holidays. Our family is now 8 people, my current table works, but with two pregnant daughters, we will soon be 10, that is with no other family or friends. my3dogs, I'm not sure I need to have 6 chairs. Our home is small and I already have several side chairs that I can and do use. As smiling said, Harden is a very good brand and, they are still in business. "Duncan Phyfe" style was very popular for decades, ans still is. So dating these pieces is not easy. Can we see some pictures of the table as a table and a chair? I've never seen one that tipped up like that ... Definitely saves space. And look at the hardware on the tipping place and latch for a patent number and date.

Looks ya like Pennsylvania Dutch to me, or maybe Amish? I would price it at $175 and take the best offer. You don't need to sell to the 1st person who makes an offer. Simply tell them you're hoping to get a little more, but if you can't will sell to them.

This style is great for anyone wanting to do a cottage kitchen with painted white furniture~yes, more than likely it will be painted. This may be the person willing to give you the best price. Good luck.
