Very small red insects are in my containers
Comments (9)Fist and foremost, thank you all for responding. I thought I had this set up for automatic updates to my email, but for some reason the festure is not working correctly. I decided to check in directly to the forum and see that I had many responses. So Thank You. Now, on to the original question. The containers are outside located mostly in the sun and I don't see any obvious damage to the plants. But these insects (smaller then a pin head) seem to run around a mile a minute. I will try my best to take a photo of them, but they may not be able to show up in the photo, but I will try....See MoreDesign help for a very small kitchen please.
Comments (17)Every RE market is different, of course, but I'm wondering if this is a one bedroom and if you could move the bathroom entrance to the bedroom wall so you can increase your kitchen proper to a full 12'7" wide? eta: I drew a door there between bedroom and closet, but you wouldn't actually need that. There's a door on the bathroom already. at 12'11" you have space for a standard depth island with seating. I just put a free-standing piece there in the drawing....See MoreDo any of you have black or very dark painted rooms? Update
Comments (244)Here's a sneak peek of my new sunroom/gameroom. It's a dark, dark blue. It was supposed to be a dark charcoal grey, but the paint chip didn't show how much of a blue undertone it had. I like it though. I'm dying to use the Pergo Blueprint laminate and this might be my chance....See MoreSmall room - very low ceiling - color help needed
Comments (8)Thank you, @suzie! I do love the Quitude paint when it looks more green. It is the color I was looking/hoping for. It's hard to see from the photos but I was hoping for what you see in Pic #2 but what is on the walls looks more blue, pic #3 for most of the day. It only looks greener when it's cloudy and late afternoon. It's hard to explain with the difference in monitors but it looks more like a muted robins egg blue b/c the sun just washes it out. I'm terrible at describing color so I appreciate you helping me along this journey! To answer your questions: we have a sample of SW creamy - and I put it on the wall but that was when we were leaning towards a darker color so I quickly ruled it out. So many like and love the color, I will try it again. I will look at Navaho white and Soft Chamois too! A quick look at Soft Chamois online and it looks so beautiful and it has the added weight of color that I'm looking for, without getting too heavy. It may be a bit too griege for this space, only b/c everything in this house is grayer than normal. I finally understand why the previous owners painted everything bright carnival colors :) I will grab a chip and sample at the store today. Thanks for the ideas! We painted the trim only in this room. I know you are supposed to keep the trim consistent but, with everythign up in the air and we are fixing things up, I didn't want to wait to re-do trim. The alabaster looks soft and pretty in here but I'm willing to change if it doesn't go with anythign else. It's funny how paint names really guide you...I always stay aware from SW Pure White b/c of the name. Not sure why...meanwhile, so many on Houzz usse it and I like it in photos. It makes me think "primer white", and it is definitely NOT like that at all. I'm a fan of keeping the same or similar colors on the trim. I went through a phase where I liked the contrast and now I want everything the same, esp in the smaller rooms. We changed the trim in our downstairs dining area and converted to a side room/nook. We had philipsburg blue on the trim with cameo on the walls. I don't know what we were thinking...it was many years ago. We repainted with cameo white again b/c in that small room, it's so dark it looks more like a soft linen, not too yellow at all. We changed the trim from this dark blue to cameo white - at 75%. The room looks so much bigger. The sublte change from wall to molding keeps things consistent. I like the idea of doing that again. As much as I loved the green/blue idea in the bedroom upstairs, I think the contrast is another reason I'm having an issue iwth it. I think lighter and similar trim is the way to go. Thanks for all of your suggestions!...See Morejannnnn
