range hood duct routing
As showed in the picture, the total length from floor to the end of the ceiling window is around 81 inch, minus 36 inch+25 inch, only 20 inchs left for the ranch hood. I prefer to install a wall mount style, but seems most model require at least 13-15 inch for the duct. It is on a exterior wall so that part is easy. But could any one tell me whether i have enough room to install a wall mount hood or i can only do under the cabinet? where is my best option to drill for the 6' duct? Thanks!!

Comments (3)This is such a new product, you're probably not going to find much of anyone with any experience. Even the Vent-A-Hood website doesn't have much information yet. The product is attracting some attention in the trade press, but most of that is from the Vent-A-Hood PR Department You can see a Vent-A-Hood video on the product on YouTube. See the link below. Comments (5)We recently bought a house with an ADU and are getting ready to rent it. The range hood in the kitchen is both ducted and ductless. For some reason, the installer (or previous owner/tenant?) installed the range hood so that it both ducts to the outdoors as well as back into the unit. Trying to understand how to convert this to the ducted-only configuration. Can I just block the holes to the ductless part? Is it more complicated than that? you need 30" from the vent to the stove top.The best look? Pic #1. stove w/a down draft. That large white range you have in the spot doesn't really work .
#2 and #3 are second.
Can you move the stove elsewhere?
I hope you plan on going w/more of mcm type of look.Melody Xiao
4 years agoIt is a mid-century house! But it is pretty small. The kitchen area also include washer and dryer, the plumbing is already done so the sink is stayed at the island. Really no place to relocate the stove. I plan to just do under cabinet range hood, maybe get through the side wall can provide enough length for ducting?
