Can't find decent gray-green for room with extreme light changes
Comments (7)Stone White from Farrow & Ball is a color they've recently retired, but it can always be made-up for you. Anything but "white," it is most similar in nature to Ball Green (which F&B still has) and it's kind of a green-grey-taupe color that I've heard described as "gorgeous." On the wall, it is a quiet color with a grey undertone. However, like most of the colors I've listed, it is considerably deeper than pale Silver Sage. Based on your preference for Silver Sage, I'd say Dimpse followed by Mizzle are probably closest to what you're looking for; however, like Silver Sage, they do have a lot of blue in them. Vert de Terre is closer to the color I think you desire and to Paris Rain, if it were only a bit lighter (and I'm sure you could have something mixed custom)....See MoreHelp...my carefully planned neutral gray is blue-gray
Comments (3)That is really unfortunate about the girl at the BM store, she should be there to assist with these very issues! Would you be willing to paint yourself? You will be so much happier if you love the color... To get a warm gray right, you have to choose a color that looks like a mix between grey/beige. This is a great one- BM Grant Beige HC-83....See MoreKitchen Cabinet Color Change to Gray
Comments (12)The cabinet color goes very well with the floor and counter; there's a good chance that the light gray you want will not (you'll have to evaluate in your own space, since photos and monitors can misrepresent reality). Changing out one element of a design that works well often produces something that works less well, sometimes a lot less well. I agree with others that the most jarring thing in the photos is the wall color, and that it appears to be in large part due to the effect of the lighting. I'd start with the lighting, move on to the wall color if lighting doesn't solve the problem, and only then would I even think about doing anything else. And even then I would take to heart the advice about how difficult and costly it is to get a good finish when repainting cabinets....See MoreKitchen Cabinets Paint Help (white cabinet with blue-gray island)
Comments (18)Are your floors stained on-site hardwood or did they come pre-finished? I’m asking because I really like how your kitchen has turned out - and I’m thinking about being a copycat (as my mom used to tell me - “Imitation is the sincerest form of flattery“ - every time my younger sister would “copy” me - ex. I cut 6” off my hair - 4 days later my sister got the same exact haircut). I might have missed it - but what did you go with for your backsplash? Oh - and I know that you already had your countertops but . . . Are they quartz or marble? Everything really looks nice. I may go a with a little “moodier” blue on my island - but I really like yours too. i just looked back through your photos - the blue island has so many looks depending upon light!...See Moreeam44
