Please help with vanity/shower layout
Comments (7)It doesn't really look like there's enough room for both a pony wall and shelves. Is the vanity a stock size? If not ( if it's being custom made) I might be inclined to build the pony wall and have the vanity made "wall to wall". FWIW, we have. 60" double vanity, then a space, then the shower, just like yours, although our shower has a curtain, not glass. The difference is our toilet is right next to the shower (couldn't move it - concrete condominium construction) so we needed the space to get in and out of the shower....See More10' vanity layout
Comments (5)We have a 10' vanity, but since we have a window between the two mirrors, that breaks up the space visually even though it's one long counter run. If we didn't have the window there, I'd probably have gone with a tower between the two sinks. Also, if you go all one level, check the length of your stone slabs before choosing. We were able to pick one that spanned the 10' vanity without needing a seam....See MoreCalling all layout experts!!! PLEASE help with 2nd floor layout
Comments (8)Mjlb: Yes! One bath could be accessible from hall. If you have ideas, I would love to hear them. I should have added I planned to eliminate entrance to Master closet from hall anyways. That's just weird to begin with. I really want my daughter (who will be the oldest child) to have her own bath, which is why I wanted to do the en-suite baths. In regards to thinking in 3D, trust me, I have....or trying to anyways. I have a program I use (not a professional but it helps with the visualization.) The bumping out is actually creating a larger family room below, which is why I want to do it, not just to create a larger Master. Plan has two fireplaces. Both are listed as optional, so I have so wiggle room there as well. This is a stock plan, Unfortunately a truly custom plan is not in the budget. I love so many aspects of this plan, especially the exterior....See MoreVanity of vanities! All is vanity! (Need vanity help for half bath)
Comments (5)Since the vanity is between two walls, I'd purchase a cabinet with appropriate filler to fill the entire space, then have a counter templated. I wouldn't want the vanity floating in the hole between walls. Build it in, like the current one is. You can still have open shelving or legs on the bottom if that's what you like....See MoreLouise Johnson
