This was a huge hickory tree that was struck by lightning a couple of years ago. It was very sick. We had to take it down last weekend. At least I have pictures of it and I saved a sliver for carving.

On a smaller scale - 2 Japanese laceleaf maples that I planted from seed 4 years ago.

This year they get they get their own pot.

The final resting place for my daughter. The trees, unusual for a cemetery, make it a beautiful, peaceful, restful place to be.

Spring has sprung!

I just hopped over our garden wall to take this in the churchyard.

Newest tree, Grancy Graybeard, or white fringe tree, a southern native, already has a few blooms this spring.

My young flowering crab tree. This past fall a buck came and rubbed his antlers on the trunk! He took off a fair amount of bark. My neighbor alerted me about it and I still had the protective piece that was on it when I got it, so I put it back on. I wasn't sure it was going to make it, but it did!!

This is a Moreton Bay Fig tree in a park a couple miles from our house. It was planted in the late 1880'S. The park is small but the tree is huge.

I hope someone can add a photo or two of California's majestic coastal redwood trees. I have no such photos to post but I think I've seen a few from others.

I have photos from Sequoia National Park, but they're on my other computer, and so I cannot access them here. I also have a lot that were taken on film and need to be scanned.

We should have a national parks theme one day for photos.
