Another Netflix Find

I saw a few episodes of Longmeier a couple of years ago and liked it. Then it opened the next season on a station we did not get. I noticed it on Netflix last week and have been enjoying watching this series from the beginning. I recommended it. He is a Wyoming sheriff in a small town. All the main characters have a back story. Someone is found dead at the beginning of the show, and the rest is how the sheriff, who spurns cell phones, solves the crime.

Funny, DH found that series way back and watched all of it. I accused him of having a "man-crush" on the guy when he searched online to try to find a belt buckle like his, which he did. I got it for him for his B-Day. He collects Western belt buckles. He'd kill me if he thought I'd tell anyone about his "man-crush" though! LOL! His latest favorite has been "Blacklist".

Both DH and I Ioved the TV series. There are also 16 books in the Longmire series by Craig Johnson. DH read quite a few and said they were good.

@Larsi... It's not weird. I was completely as shocked as you, when I found a single box STILL in stock, in a back corner of Amazon ;) I must have went through 12 pages, before I found it. So Amazing, and Cool to be able to find stuff like that. I mean... It's Amazon. Things don't last long on there ;) It's just pure luck I guess. So happy :-) I'm glad you love the All Pods. I know it seems strange, but... their really powerful little pacs, and they smell amazing, like REAL detergent, lol. I just wish P&G would take a note from a competitor... instead of all these new scents and liquids.

When we got a 4K tv, we changed to Netflix 4k so that I could see something in 4K. I binge watch too much and Netlix makes it easy - Frankie and Grace, the Crown, Stranger Things, Series of Unfortunate Events, Travelers, West Wing, re-watching the Sherlock series, etc. But I find good movies too - just watched Walt before Mickey and I loved Jane Fonda/Robert Redford Our Souls at Night and Kathy Bates in The Great Gilly Hopkins and lots of others. While I agree the latest block busters aren't there (they to have Dr. Strange and Guardians of the Galaxy), I do find plenty of offerings to "waste my time" and have to give serious thought to giving up HBO, etc.

Watched it all last night. It's a horrendous shame when innocent people end up in prison for any length of time. But IMO it's even worse when it happens to young people, whose minds are still so impressionable, making them so vulnerable to whatever they experience, during their time of incarceration. If morals and character traits are not yet fully developed, the imprisoned youth can so easily become hopeless and hardened, and basically live down to the expectations of a convicted felon, because they were taken out of 'normal' society so young. It's terribly sad what these young boys went through, but so admirable that they were able to rise above the injustice they experienced. Thanks Jasdip, for posting this!

Funny how we all have different impressions of the same things :-) I would give up Netflix long before I gave up BritBox or Acorn. They may have less content than Netflix but the choices are far superior! Even their "dumb" shows are better than most of what Netflix offers. And now that the BBC has pulled all their programming from Netflix, I am even less inclined to watch. But probably won't give it up altogether. They do have a few series worth watching and some films but it's a pain wading through the 80% of cr*p for the puny 20% of shows I would consider watching. Both BB and Acorn add new shows and new episodes for some existing shows on a weekly basis. And send me an email previewing what's coming. I like that!

I watched every episode in every season. Really sorry to get to the end. You might enjoy Justified when you finish Longmeier.

I really enjoyed Longmire! (wasn't thrilled about the last episode)

I'll have to check into Justified.

I listened to all the audiobooks before the series came out. They are laugh out loud funny. I was thrilled that when they filmed the series the location was not too far from me (around Santa Fe, NM).

My dh and I are watching Longmire now - we really like it! I think we're in season 3 or 4. I think there are 6? I like watching series that have an ending - hate it when you have one that gets cancelled with no final show. I try to look up the info so I know there's an ending before we get too into a series.

We loved both Longmire and Justified. Hap and Leonard is a similar, and really good, series.

I've just started watching 'After Life' with Ricky Gervais and I can't say enough good things about it. The 1st show was intriguing, the 2nd sad but funny ... I'm hooked. Even people who don't like Ricky Gervais had great reviews. Having recently lost my twin brother it was refreshing to watch a very real take on what happens to the people left behind.

We found a new one to watch, called Kim's Convenience on Netflix. It is very funny, about a Korean immigrant family in Canada who own a convenience store. The dad is sort of an Asian Archie Bunker type. There are 4 seasons and seasons 5 and 6 are a sure thing, but filming is delayed because of the pandemic.

This thread got me to try Longmire. I started watching the first episode and like what I've seen so far. Then today Amazon has the Kindle version of one of the books on sale for $1.99 (#14 I think). I didn't buy it because I decided to start with the first in the series and bought that one instead. Thanks!

Another vote for Hap and Leonard. DH is now watching 4400. I am not a SIFI fan, so not my thing. Highly recommend Second Hand Lion to anyone that has not seen the movie. Not sure if is a Netflix or other.
