Need creative advice in joining exit stream to pond - same level
Comments (3)I am a great fan of streams. I believe mine does all of my filtering. I don't actually know that spilling is helping but in any of your cases, all you could have is flowing as a mechanism for cleaning/filtering. Anyway, I don't have a specific solution for you, but I want to add to your thoughts. I suspect that the double piping may be your solution. It would be a 4 'bottom drain' connection! However, it seems to me that mixing method 2 with glue would give you what you are looking for. Admittedly, I have little faith in sealing liners either, but to the extent that you believe in plan 2, the glue would give a semi-seal and prevent movement that might make the weight theory succeed. I"M Still with plan 1. Thinking about plan 3: It seems to me that a single linear rubber clamp is just as good as the square or circle. neither one of us knows what that would be but it simplifies things a bit. I do have one goofy idea that you might think about and mix in. I wanted to suggest a clamp that didn't involve screws with MORE holes. My thought is to cut a slit lengthwise in some pvc pipe, wedge it open, and slip it over the sealed pieces of liner or rubber additions. Perhaps one could use more flexable roll tubing to curve up edges. That black underground tubing is very stiff and still give a spring clamping effect. I'm still with number 1. I suppose my plan would be different from yours only in calling that stream an Inlet not an outlet. I'd put a big pump in the big pond and pump the water to the far end of the stream that would then 'flow' back thru the stream and pipes....See MoreNeed Device Advice, I Want To Play Netflix DVD's
Comments (3)What do you mean your old DVD player "won't work?" Does it require a connection your current TV does not have? Does it say on the screen that it cannot play the DVD you selected? Need more info. Sometimes DVD players will permit you to change the "region" so that DVDs made for the US and other parts of N.America won't work in other parts of the world. Make sure you haven't accidentally switched the region for your player....See MoreFavorite Streaming Device?
Comments (28)Thank you all! Your responses made my decision easy. I just purchased the Roku from BB. The sales person failed to mention the HDMI cable was not included, so I cannot yet report on the ease of set-up. I had no idea BluRay doubled as a media streaming device. I'll keep that in mind if we use this enough to get another television, or upgrade the current TV. We only have one small television in the house, so I appreciate everyone's expert advice!...See MoreStreaming TV series suggestions
Comments (50)For me, the absolute champion, never-to-be-surpassed series is Game of Thrones. Great acting, great writing, intriguing plots, and beautiful locations. True, it is very violent, so I - hating "blood 'n guts" - spent a fair amount of time peeking between my fingers with squinted eyes. That said, it is epic, a story of human foibles and weaknesses and occasional courage. If you can cope with limbs being lopped off, of everything that could go wrong being shown on screen, and if you can follow the convoluted plot and myriad characters - I recommend it. imo there's nothing else like it. The dragons! DH and I also loved Mad Men. We came to it toward the end of its run, so there was a lot of binge-watching to catch up. It would have been my favorite but for GOT. We've watched many of the above-mentioned shows, especially enjoying Foyle's War....See More- 6 years ago
