Grubhub and Uber eats will deliver anything. One of the local cookie stores is sending them out - minimum order is 1 cookie. There's a sandwich shop in town that will make you a peanut butter & jelly sammich. Either of those two services will deliver it. Hot dogs? Hell, I'd order a half dozen with mustard and kraut right now just because you put the thought in my head!

Are hotdogs gone from the stores? If your kid is crying because he just wants a hotdog, it might be worth finding someone who'll do delivery. And asking them if they can deliver a whole package of hotdogs while they're at it. :)

The Szechuan place I was telling y'all about is closed. I don't know if it's permanent, but it's a shame...

No one delivers anything out to my house, we're too far in the sticks for even a pizza delivery, but I can do "curbside pick up" if I really want something badly enough. We never eat out and when I say never I mean not even once or twice a year, we just don't. That said, Elery went to the local A&W drive in, where the car hops come out to your car with trays to put on your windows, and he bought me a root beer. The stuff in the bottles/cans is NOT the same as that "frosty mug" stuff from the fountain. While he was there he bought a grilled ham and cheese sandwich to share with the dog, LOL. I also did my best for the local small brewery. I don't drink beer, but they've been making hand sanitizer, so I got some of that!

A new Chinese buffet/hibachi grill opened just about 3 weeks before Kung Flu hit. We went about their 2nd week and the food was really really yummy. They've been closed since the quarantine of course. I am hoping they will be able to reopen when Gov. Ivey gives the OK. I feel so bad for them.

Not delivery but a lot of fast food places have drive thru or curbside pick up functioning. If a Sonic Drive In in your area, they have hotdogs on the menu.

That's a shame about the closing, and I feel you're right, there will be more who will permanently close.

I looked it up, Canada does have Sonics, and yes, they have hot dogs, LOL! Well, those in the States do, anyway. I've eaten my share during our remodel. More than my share, LOL! I guess, sometimes one has a craving and can't get it out of their head. Like right now, I'd sure like a root beer float.

Sadly, Three Twins ice cream has gone under! It's local, but distributed nationally. Trying to help our local eateries with our Fed $, but don't want to gain 20#s!

I find it ... not ironic ... but something somewhat close to it that those in the service industry - bars, restaurants, food trucks, mobile beer trucks that serve cold drinks from a vintage truck, etc - are now relying on we, the people, to serve them. In these times, we will end up choosing the winners and losers, who will survive ...

I just ordered lobster rolls for our anniversary. And DH birthday. Helps the lobster fisherman and the restaurant in Boston. Just announced and hour ago on GMA.

It's not the fact that she wanted delivery of food, I get that. People are supporting our local restaurants any way they can. Getting take-out and delivery.......but meals.

I found it laughable that someone actually posted that she wanted a hot-dog and wondered who sells and delivers it. She'd pay a premium instead of cooking one in the skillet, loaded with onions, peppers, or just plain mustard, however she wanted it.

3 restaurants and a bar closed in our city as of today. I can't see the Mandarin doing very well when things open up. People are going to be leery of buffets, I believe.

Nice gift Sleeve! I just ordered some scallops (haven't found them locally) for my birthday : ) DH isn't a fan, but I think if I serve them on blanched spinach with some bacon, he'll eat them. Maybe a balsamic reduction.

Here is south Orange County CA some restaurants are outright closed but more are doing takeout/curbside. Although I love to cook, we do/did eat out often. We are trying to support our favorites by rotating orders 1-2X per week.

Many also seem to be selling their supplies - you can buy flour, sugar, eggs, etc. One of the seafood places in the harbor is doing a fish market a couple of days a week.

Best of all - you can buy booze to go now!

Crazy times.

A nice thing happened here a couple weeks ago. (not sure 'nice' is in our vocabulary at this time...but 'focused' is). Two women, in the neighborhood where my work central office is located, set up a non-profit. Keeping 8 restaurants open in the area. Now seeing this all over the country.

In 24 hours they raise 12,000 dollars to help the meals needed for front line workers and the hungry/children used to meals at school, etc. needing meals. Restaurants and owners/servers I've known for years. We were a bit worried about their businesses. They have hired back workers. The wood fired pizza oven is back up 24/7. Providing for the local residents. They are getting finance for boxed meals. They are re-hiring staff. Safe in-house secure environments to work. Making one meal each day with a dessert, and a salad. No you cannot choose from a usual menu but all are so thankful. This system is working. Tape on the pavement and pick-up tables outside. 12 foot distancing. Call or text when outside... No mask, no service.

It is working to help save our restaurants.

There is a hot dog restaurant not far from our house. Yes, they deliver.

I just saw a newspaper article about the owner delivering 250 hot dogs to one of our big hospitals to feed the staff. Nice.

A few of our restaurants are doing the same, Maddie. Or if front-line workers come in scrubs, show id, etc they get a meal on the house.

The lobster roll kit guy from Boston was on the news this morning thanking everyone across the country for ordering. (what a great accent, lol) They sold more lobster kits in 2 hours than they sell all year normally. He hired back his workforce. They sold out but may add more delivery dates later on.
