Amazing!! If I hadn't seen it with my own eyes I wouldn't believe it. Used the Connoisseur's Silver Cleaner, poured a "puddle" of it directly on the (quite sizeable) bleach stain, placed a couple of Viva paper towels on its, and within a minute or two the yellow-orange stain was gone. I had thought, for sure, that I would have to replace the entire vanity countertop. Kudos, Imriedel. Take a bow!! ;-) OOPS! Please be sure to carefully read the label on the silver polish/cleaner. While cleaning the discolored countertop, some of the solution got on the stainless steel trim around the sink, and left a dark gray discoloration on the trim. Not terrible, but be careful not to splash any solution on the stainless steel! Yesterday, I had to touch up a small bleach-stained area on the countertop, near the steel trim, I applied the solution, gently, with an old toothbrush, and that worked perfectly!

Update: I had the repair men here twice last week. First they changed the High Limit Thermostat but that turned off in 5 minutes. They kept the bottom metal piece off the dryer to watch what was happening. They then came back and installed the Thermistor they mentioned they needed when they were here the day before. On the invoice they claimed they installed gas coils but I did not see them do this so I hope they are telling the truth. I was happy that they did listen to me and they did go up in my attic and attach two broom stick handles with duct tape and push out more heavy damp lint that was clogging the vent to the dryer vent that goes from the laundry room wall straight up many feet high in the attic before turning to go perpendicular all the way across the other side of the attic that covers many feet before turning to vent out the back of the townhouse up on the roof. The fee was $309.23 but at least my Whirlpool Duet Dryer is finally drying and it amazes me that some loads are dry in 45 minutes and some in 65 minutes instead of 2.5 hours (took 2.5 hours to dry one heavy beach towel and 8 hours to dry a load of towels and 5 hours to dry a load of regular clothes and 2.25 hours to dry one light weight bath towel, hand towel and wash cloth) to 8 hours! The 4 sheets I washed and dried last night came out so hot it amazed me. I have not tried anything but the extra high setting so far and I may try the sensor drying that never worked for me. I don't think my dryer ever worked this great before even when it was new 5.25 years old. Four years ago, I did have my dryer vent professionally cleaned but they never went in the attic. My two male friends helped me clean the lint out of the dryer and to the wall and up the wall and in the attic taking apart the vents. My friend John claimed the vent was clear which is the vent that would not come apart that goes straight up the floor before turning. He used a snake on both sides to unclog it but maybe there was a clog in the middle of it? My townhouse will be 21 year old in another month and I have lived here for 12.5 years. I always cleaned the filter but never knew there was a dryer vent in the attic.

Even later in this post and my problems continue. My question relates back to grout not being waterproof and it is expected that moisture will inevitably be behind the tile but not going past the kerdi. Above "Every grout manufacturer will tell you their grout is NOT waterproof. Tile is not waterproof. Sealer adds some measure of stain protection but is not waterproof either. Waterproofing is achieved by a variety of approved methods which fall into 2 categories; 1- Surface applied membranes such as kerdi, Hydroban, AquaDefense, Hydrobarrier, Nobleseal, Dalseal, Kerdi board and its competitor foam board from USG. 2- Subsurface membranes such as the classic vinyl liner WITH a moisture barrier behind cement board such as tar paper or sheet plastic. As a member of the National Tile Contractors Association, I can easily attest to the above information. But it's your shower and your money and you get to decide what you want to do." I have Kerdi board behind the tile so it is waterproof but the tiles continue to gray. I may need to redo the shower surround with different tile.

Regarding prep: Like anything, prep is 80% -90% of the job. Let me rephrase that is a silly amount of bad and unneeded prep. However, let's use your analogy a bit, while studying for an exam is a good use of your time, attempting to read every book published on a subject is a poor use of your time. For a bit of play on a couple of old adages, "it takes hard work and effort to get anywhere, but my dog puts hard work and effort into chasing his tail." Read the comment section of the video posted... In this video there were so many things that are just mistakes. Taping everything, is a bit much, painting a vertical straight line at intersecting walls is not that hard. Taping a textured ceiling is completely worthless and will not look good. Taping carpet, and this is especially good when she uses the too small tool that pulls the tape from the wall and gets wet with paint. It is almost a perfect transfer mechanism. Didn't take the outlet covers off. Left the tape on far too long. Take a hair dryer to the uncured paint to get the tape off the wall without scoring the edge.
