Comments (3)That's wild! I assume the pests were effectively controlled by mother nature(the one thing that cured my scale issue). I can't say enough for the power of the food chain. There are so many hungry predators out there! Comments (11)I'm seeing 'peeling paper' on the floor. Are these peel and stick tiles? If they are, there is no need for a transition strip. I agree you should patch that bit through the doorway. Only floating floors require the transition strip. If these are 'fixed' by adhesive then there is no need for it...other than to deal with large gaps or holes that are too large to patch/span....See MoreHow should we transition the baseboards, and stairs here?

Comments (5)If the OP is proposing a change in the coursing height of Hardie lap siding, the traditional detail is to flare the upper siding over a band/belly board. In the details below the bottom edge of the band board should be rabbeted (continuous notch) to overlap the top of the lower siding.
