Need help with Master bedroom layout
Comments (2)Sorry, the link didn't work for me. I think the proposed layout is the better one, but I have a couple of questions. What is the triangular thing in the top right corner? Not there in the first layout. I would move the tv and bookcase to where you have the dressing table in the new layout. Put the chest and dresser on the same wall (assuming that triangular thing can go away), and put the dressing table angled in the corner near where the chest is currently. Leave walking space at the end of the bed....See MoreHelp needed with layout of new home master bedroom
Comments (6)If the picture is being taken from the entry I suggest moving the bed to the wall that you have the mirror propped up against and the dresser in between the Windows. Add two unexpected nightstands that are larger scale (at minimum 36” wide. Hope it helps as it’s hard to visualize the layout...See MoreBuilding a house and desperately need help with the Master Bedroom!
Comments (19)Putting the bed on the 13' wall would work and could provide you with a sitting area. HOWEVER, if you plan to have a tv in your bedroom, generally those are placed on the wall opposite the bed and 18' would be a LONG way to have to see unless you have a large screen t.v. Have you considered NOT having double windows and doing two separate windows in each section. This is far from perfect but illustrates what having two windows could look like. I'd also increase the width of the front door, too, if possible, because it looks tiny compared to the double windows and large looming gable above it....See Moreneed help with master bedroom furniture
Comments (1)Hi Elizabeth! Looking at your idea book photos, you seem to be well on your way! Those photos offer good ideas of where you might go with your decor. I'm partial to the Huntington Morrison club chair you have in your idea book for its color and shape. You could place that to the left of the bed angled out from the corner. I love the poufs you have selected! You might put two or three of those (depending on the size) at the end of the bed. The Emira bench you selected might be good under the window as a faux window seat. You could think about a floating shelf under the sky picture to give it more presence. If you have a chair there, it would be a place for a few books to sit and maybe a couple of the framed photos from the dresser. I would be tempted to swap out the mirror over the bed for a bigger piece of art. You might consider something with some texture or dimension, like a fiber art piece. Personally, I think the standing mirror near the door should hang on the wall. It think that would help it offer better symmetry to the outside door opposite. Were you thinking to add a rug like one of your idea book rooms? (if your carpet is plush, don't put a rug under the foot of the bed, you'll have unflattenable wrinkles.) You'd have to be careful of the color and pattern if you like the poufs idea! Are you considering painting the tray ceiling blue, like the other idea book rooms? That would be quite striking! Hope some of that helps! Best of luck, I think it will turn out great! Doug...See MoreMelanie Sippel
