Our new living room space—— HELP!!!!
Comments (6)Hi there, Because you only just moved, I assumed you'll add coffee table and soft furnishings etc so I'm only commenting on the TV/sofa layout :-) A quick suggestion (this plan is not to scale, it's just that sometimes it's easier to visualise than read an explanation): Reasons for this layout are: - TV in the nook because I think that it would be too high if placed on the fireplace - switching 2-seater and 3-seater sofas so that the bigger one faces the TV - avoiding blocking the light coming from the windows by changing the sofa's place What do you think? Comments (9)If the room is super narrow, I'd put the TV on the wall between the kitchen doors, couch opposite it under the windows (don't set it right against them- leave some space for the heating) and get some light-blocking curtains if the glare is an issue during the day. If space allows, you could square up your entertainment stuff on the shell wall, put your couch opposite it, but place it about 2/3 of the room away from it. Depending on the width of the room, your MCM chairs could be angled facing the couch conversationally or both placed under the window side by side.... lots of things you can do! You can put your put the piano on the wall by the kitchen with a LARGE colorful (or black and white if that's what you love) art piece hung over it to make a statement. Doesn't have to be expensive- grab a 20% off coupon for bed bath and beyond 😜! And you still have for an entryway built-in by the door if you want. Your bookshelves might be able to go by the front door. 🤷♀️...See MorePlease help! First apartment, awkward shape living room
Comments (2)Hi Erin, Please add some photos to get an idea of what are the problems you are facing. Without pictures, it's really tough to give any suggestions. When you had posted this, while typing you might have seen a line below this where you can see options for attaching photos, videos, link etc. Attach photos from there. Comments (8)@Jay Remodeling I plan to purchase more furniture after I get some advise on what I should have. I don’t have a coffee table yet and plan to put a fireplace mantle on the longest wall. I do have a credenza I intend to put in that nook after the railing. I would like the space for lounging and conversation. I will not have a TV. @decoenthusiaste :) I took some more pictures with my area rug laid out. I have my couch pulled away from the wall about 5 inches. I don’t know what I should put behind my accent chairs. I have about 4 feet. A bench? Seems kinda awkward....See MoreJilly
