Fireplace update: Can I put stone or tile over granite?
Comments (17)I have opposite problem/question. My house came with fireplace that has 8" tall hearth with slab on top which seems to be sandstone, and which now has a hole in it the size of a few quarters. I never liked the color anyway, and I would like to have granite instead. It seems the easiest least expensive make-over would be to just put a slab of granite on top of the sandstone (with mortar in between). Is this feasible, or is the sandstone too weak to support the granite?...See MoreWeird half corner fireplace + where to buy fireplace stone/tile

Comments (12)"If it’s functional, that alone has a beauty" Yes! FWIW I keep a squeegee in the shower to squeegee down all the walls - tile, glass, and the glass door - at the end of every shower. Makes it easier to keep clean. I love that tile you pictured, but it wouldn't work for a squeegee so maybe that's something to keep in mind as you look at tiles. So keep it up please. :)...See MoreDoes this shower tile coordinate with the granite and floor tile?
