Please help with door and shutter color
Comments (8)I love a white house. I think I would consider a yellow door or a red door. Your house is cottagey to me. What state are you in? I don't know if I would do Bahama shutters b/c they wouldn't let much light in, right? You could do dark green shutters. Or a teal/turquoise greenish/bluish shutters. I don't think you need to be too serious with your house. It is nice cottage and can be a bit playful. How about painting the porch ceiling a sky blue?...See MoreWhat color shutters look good with a cream colored house?
Comments (7)What color is the roof and can you post a picture? Cream is fairly neutral unless there is a lot of yellow in it. Anything from white to black. I wouldn't t care for black but a lot of people would love it. You could also use an almost black color for it to be less stark looking. Since you have a red cedar deck maybe a reddish brown or deep red tone that incorporates the coloring of that feature. The deck material is on the same side of the house as the shutters? They are visible together? I would suggest looking at lots of pictures online for "cream house" to better see what your own personal preferences are. Comments (18)Well that DOES look truly awful. I don't think the fix will be that bad though, I think you could even do it yourself if you have any DIY skills. I would do the Java gel stain like flyr suggested but do it on the treads only then a nice white on the risers and sides. If you can't DIY it then hire someone to do it but then I'd take the first"professional" you hired to small claims and try to get some of money back you had to pay to fix his mess....See MoreBahama shutter / exterior color question
Comments (3)I like the look of Bahama Shutters and we are putting them on our house.. the question is what color not IF they should add the shutters. Colors can be difficult. I would hire someone local that is good with color and have them help....See Moresloyder
