If You Could Re-Do Your Garden Shed, What Would You Do Different?
Comments (8)Oh boy ... that's definitely a loaded question, but thank heavens my husband doesn't read these forums! I'd had it all planned out (the shed, that is), but it was not cost effective. Oh all right - $2000.00 IS a bit ridiculous, I suppose. We modified the design and took a few shortcuts to significantly drop the cost, got a few things from friends ("free" works for me!), and ended up w/ a really cool shed, inside & out. It's large enough to hold all of my garden tools/accessories/books/etc. Plenty of space to move around, lots of counter space for various tasks ... I actually spend quite a bit of time out there on the weekends, even in cold temps (propane heater). BUT ... the number one thing that I would do different is the roof. While corrugated tin LOOKS absolutely fantastic, rustic, etc., it doesn't hold heat worth a darn! Of course, I can't possibly say anything about it at this point - the shed is built, and I'M the idiot that fell in love w/ the overall look of a tin roof! *heavy sigh* Guess I shot myself in the foot, so to speak!...See MoreMiele oven owners, are you happy with your choice?
Comments (13)I have used my double 30" for over a year. Everything from probe for roasting turkey to rotisserie for chickens and baking bread 1 -2 x a week. I too have posted detailed reviews like roccoco girl. You can search and see if they are still around. I hace perfect Clean and have had no problem with it as long as you wipe the oven down after each messy use. But if you don't do that even with self clean the oven will be a mess and stink. If you do high heat roasting or the rotisserie you have to wipe out the oven or self clean immediately after use as it makes a mess. As far as I am concerned there is no better appliance. I also open the oven door for cool down and it only takes a couple minutes of fan running. Otherwise it does take a while. Not too noisy, no louder obviously than when preheating. Comments (1)I am not expert what-so-ever(just finished the gunite phase of our build) so take this with a grain of salt. If it were up to me, I would dump the EasyTouch ICP and use that money to upgrade to the IntelliBrite light. You already have the EasyTouch Wireless Controller listed, I don't know why you would need both. I would also add a booster pump so you can run water features with the spa going. Not sure about the skimmers, seems like you would want two but I am not an expert....See MoreHindsight being 20/20,what would you do differently?
Comments (75)In grade 11, on the first day of history class the teacher asked us to think if we had done something in our lives that we regret. After that pause he talked about regret, and to live each day of your life deliberately so that in 30, 40, 50 years we could still be happy with the answer to the question. The answer didnt have to be that you have nothing to regret, if you have nothing to regret does might that mean you didnt try enough, push hard enough, risk failure often enough. Just understand the choices you have made to those regrets. I have thought on those words, that day many times. I would never have smoked. I dont smoke now, I never smoked much, I havent smoked for 18 years or so, but I would never have done so. I would have had more sexual partners before getting married. This is something I cant really do anything about and still honor my marriage vows, but I really regret this. One of my sons was critically ill when he was a toddler, I wish I had been a different person through that experience. I had to dig deep inside myself to be very strong, to fight for him, to push through that, but i feel that it left me harder than I was beforehand. I miss that carefree person, I miss how easily she laughed....See MoreRachel L
