Helping Vintage Rose Garden
Comments (29)Thanks for the advice mgleason56! It looked really different, very intriguing! I'll make sure it is in the best growing spot to give it the best possible start. I can start hauling compost and preparing the bed. It will be potted up first, and babied along. Good thing I made plenty of compost this year! I thought I'd also mention Vintage Gardens and their possible closing in my party plan (not roses) sales talk. Lots of people here love to garden and would like some nice roses. Every person can help a little, and maybe we can keep a great rose vendor who really deserves to stay in business! Still doing the HHRD, Linda...See MoreIs dating okay now? (Sorry, long)
Comments (8)My husband died last month and I am not grieving as most would be doing. I grieved and shed my tears while he was in the care home 9 months before his death, I have no more tears to shed. He had Alzheimer's and he fought the aides every time they tried to help him. It took 2 men to hold him and one aide to change or bathe him. About the dating, no way will I ever have a serious relationship again. For the first time in my life and I am 70 I am free to do as I please without being criticized. Half of our money went to the care home, but I am still ok financially. If I marry again, my new husband will get half of everything I have left. If I liked the guy and was happy with him, I would be faced with losing half of my money AGAIN if he had to go to a care home. About internet dating, be very careful. My neighbor's daughter married a man she met on the internet. She met him once, saw pictures of his home, his grandchildren talked to her on the phone and called her grandma. I met him, he was a prince charming. But I thought she was crazy. She quit her job, sold her car and took her possessions to Texas. He filed for divorce 3 weeks later, turns out he is a serial psychopath. He's not a killer, just a guy who courts, buys gifts, wins the family over, marries his bride then the fun is over. He locked her out of the house, got rid of her pet yorkie and wouldn't give her...her possessions. They are still waiting in Texas for a court's decision on who gets them. By the way did I mention she was his 12th wife....See MoreWhere is Your Home Gym?
Comments (26)Wantoretire ~ Your exercise is different than mine at this time of year. Just don't do too much, if you know what I mean. How heavy is a snowblower? Yesterday it was pretty dang warm down here and I was sweating while I worked outside, up and down a ladder with my hand clippers trimming the inside of our front hedgerow. I started getting tired and 'tripping over a blade of grass' as DH laughingly said yesterday. That was almost the truth. I finished up what I was doing and came inside. I was hungry too and no wonder it was almost noon. I had been at it since 8. I need to mow, and there is more trimming around the property to do, but that will be another day. Down here it's never ending, a 365 day a year possibility of working in gardens. This morning it is COLD here, so I was racing around before leaving for work, covering a couple of garden areas because it is supposed to go down into the 30's tonight and feel like it's in the 20's. I did bring orchids and some other things indoors, some which are in the shower. : -) Gardening is really great exercise and even though it does wear me out at times I love it. The rewards are great! Happy gardening/exercising. FlowerLady...See MoreNeed help in desperate times.
