Paint colors for bathroom with cherry cabinets

I want to refresh my master bathroom with

new paint, mirrors, lighting, fixtures. Currently I have cherry cabinets, travertine counters and floors, bisque sinks, brass fixtures and Ball and Farrow Ball Green paint color and white trim. I would like to switch to polished nickel fixtures and need a new paint color. I tried BM "Gentle Cream"( left of sink) but it's too yellow. Any suggestions would be appreciated.

Take a look at Benjamin Moore Sea Wind OC-139. It's a white with green undertones. It looks good with the reddish/pinkish undertones of cherry. My bedroom is painted this color. Here's a picture with an oiled and waxed clothing armoire from Stickley's Mission Cherry collection that I have in the bedroom.

The trim is a custom color but it is close to Benjamin Moore's Minced Onion OC-128.

I could recommend a few paint colors! Are you looking for something in a more crisp white? Open to other color suggestions? A true white could really brighten the space, but something with a little color could really have a clean but calming feel.

Well, that's a loaded question and way too much can affect the answer. However, we have been really impressed with the Benjamin Moore Advance line of paint (and their Advance primer, you'll want to use a good primer too!) for cabinetry. We chose the nice, bright, crisp, and cool toned white of Chantilly Lace (in the BM Advance) when we painted our kitchen cabinetry and we are thrilled with it. It's not a soft white though. Whatever color of white you go with though, please choose a good paint made for cabinetry, it makes all the difference in the world... especially with a DIY.

I would replace both counters and sinks. The sinks do not match so even if you do (sort of) match the brown counter they will not look like they go together.

My opinion is that cabinets don't need to match throughout a home, although they should be similar in style (e.g., sleek contemporary vs. MCM vs. craftsman vs. traditional raised-panel). The color schemes from room to room should also be complementary. In my previous house, every room was a different color but cabinet styles were similar; in my current house, wall color is the same everywhere while accessories and cabinetry are different finishes (but same styles).

Christopher, I'm open to anything. My doors and trim are semi- gloss SW Alabaster White. I tried another white in flat but there was not enough contrast. I was thinking that a soft white/creamy color might be good with the travertine and bisque colors ( shower and tub) I have, but any suggestion would be welcome. I even thought of a soft light green or blue/green color?? I really don't know what direction to go in. Thanks for any input you have!

There's a Vancouver based color specialist named Maria Killam you may have heard mentioned on here. Here's a link to a Google search with references to her many blog postings about travertine.

I think if you read some her posts you'll learn a lot about what undertones work or don't work with travertine. You'll see why the creamy yellow you tried was a bust.
