Dare to Add Color to the Bathroom
Bold Paint, Wallpaper and Accessories Take Bathrooms to the Next Level

Commitment to color in a bathroom is often avoided, with bolder hues making their appearance merely through accessories. This makes sense when considering the cost of materials to pull together a bathroom design. However, how refreshing and fun to see a few examples that embrace color — some through tile and cabinetry, others through paint and wallpaper.
Fresh green glass tile lining the walls make this bathroom a charming winner. Red accessories then move the color palette to the next level.
The colorful tile continues throughout the entire space, bringing in not only color but function.
A chartreuse vanity becomes the main attraction in this bathroom, with blue paint on one wall creating a nice balance.
Pale blue cabinetry and matching mirror frames are taken to another level when mixed with a lively wallpaper of similar colors.
Another bathroom design by Rachel Reider Interiors shows a similar approach of pairing pale painted cabinetry and mirror frames with colorful elements. In the previous example that element was wallpaper, here it is tile in the same hue as the cabinetry and a brightly painted canvas.
While all the hard surfaces are white, painting the walls a bright sky blue leaves the impression of a bath filled with color.
The beautiful grouping of turquoise here could have been inspired by a vintage bathroom showcasing colorful tiles. The choice to paint the ceiling turquoise shows a true commitment to the color, while the black window frame grounds the design.
I don't think you even notice this is a bathroom made up of white surfaces; the brilliant orange walls take this bath from neutral to brilliant with only a can of paint.
Here is another example of a bathroom that reads as if it is full of color, when in fact it's provided just by the kelly green accent wall and chair.
Turquoise tiles line the walls and floor, with a pop of red brought in through a simple chair. I think it works due to the white expanse of the claw foot tub.
Tip: One way to make a large dose of color work beautifully in a bathroom is to balance it with plenty of neutrals.

I am a huge fan of color! I am remodeling two full baths in my house right now - our kids bath and our master bath. The vanity in the kids bath is basically black - painted Ben Moore Graphite - a very clean, modern contemporary look and it looks smashing paired with the white quartz counters! Other than that are both neutral though, no color. I am going to bring that in with colorful towels, art and accessories! I love a power room jewel box though! If I had a half bath, I would do wild jewel toned wallpaper!
