Oh, and here I thought you were off restoring the Chambers. ;-) With two functions in one appliance, if one goes out, both do. That's true for the range and the double oven. A gas cooking surface is pretty simple, and even if one burner has an issue, often it won't affect the other burners. If you're talking all gas range and electric wall oven, obviously there's the different environment made by either, though in current ovens, the dichotomy is supposed to be flipped, and it's the gas that's the drier one, and electric that's moister. If you like starting something on the stovetop and finishing in the oven, or browning on the burner, braising in the oven, and reducing on the burner, there's a marginal convenience to having the oven right there. With a range oven, you have to get out of the way, while making your sauce, if someone else is tending something in the oven. With a wall oven, you can just order your minions to take it out, and they don't have to disturb you. If you have double ovens, theoretically, they'll handle the same way. With two different ovens, you have to remember which recipe does what in which oven. I grew up that way, with two different wall ovens which cooked quite differently. It's really not a biggie, once you know your ovens, to know which needs more time to brown, vs. which retains heat better, vs. which does X better whereas the other does Y. There's a learning curve with any oven. With two different ones, there are two, and you have to keep them straight. That's all I can think of. I'm sure others will have more. Which do you want?

First of all, you've done a great job on everything I can see of this house and your choice of furniture is very nice. Given the small dimensions of the living area I'd choose a not too large glass and metal coffee table to create a feeling of more space. Also, even though fireplaces are usually the focal point of a living area, given its placement I would ignore that concept. Your living room so far is very sparse, basically a couch, TV and coffee table, so I would place the chairs you have at right angles to the couch which would also give more places to view the TV. I would also increase the size of the carpet in the living room so that it covers almost the whole area, and choose a polypropylene rug with a pattern which is easy-care with a baby and will introduce some color in what so far is a very monochromatic space. I would also use one for the dining room for ease of cleaning with a somewhat different but complementary pattern and color to give added interest. Perhaps you could have a wooden chair of some kind, even a rocking chair, placed next to the fireplace but as part of the living room design, angled toward the coffee table.

I can see the door system working in the long term! Good suggestion.. however, i’m more or less looking for furniture layout solution as I’m not able to swing architectural changes right now. Floating sofa looks fantastic! Thanks everyone

I would not even start if you cannot make the flooring all same level. Put some swivel chairs by the fireplace, but focus on the water view for larger furniture. You might have to have a TV end of the room, and another grouping of furniture for entertaining. Keep in mind how hard it is to see the tv screen if you have a wall of windows.
