Have you had extreme nerve pain from teeth grinding?
Comments (32)So weird. I just got through with this. 1. Aching pain pretty constant. Dentist tried to locate the cause. Not really conclusive. Sent me to the endodontist. 2. Endodontist diagnosed a bad filling in the tooth that seemed to be aching, very old. And we did a root canal. I then left on vacation. What timing. 3. Holy cow the pain! It just started. Different than before. One drop of cold water and it was like the electric chair. Even a fast inhale. I thought "crap, he did the root canal in the wrong tooth." 4. 7 days and 80 advils later, the pain is gone. Vanished. Just like that. 5. Go to my regular dentist. He says he thinks he sees something...a small old filling in between 2 teeth popped out. Maybe that's the source. Going to have it filled again Monday. But really, since the cruise I haven't had any pain. 6. I have a feeling I'm grinding. I get more aware of clenching, and I think I will get a guard to test it out. Good luck!...See MoreI have Sciatica and need other's stories
Comments (46)Phoggie Yes, I have had MRIs of back and hips thru and down leg. I have two dud hips too which came from something else. The report is specific. But, my intern referred me to an Ortho doctor who didn't explain much and put me into PT telling me there was hope to get rid of sciatica. He didn't ask me to come back. I have 4 levels of femoral stenosis and herniated discs and massive arthritis. I need my very nice intern to talk to me after 2 more rounds of PT which is not much different that my at home stuff. Here is the site for femoral stenosis. https://www.google.com/?gws_rd=ssl#q=femoral+stenosis I believe I have one nerve within that stenosis that needs attention. Want to know what area it affects. You spoke of not wanting surgery but you sure ended up with a lot misery to get to your recovery from all that surgery. What an awful ordeal and I will not forget your pain. It is worth repeating te story My dad was another story. Sporty Jack, as I called him, began a new life after my mother died. He had voluntary hip and knee replacements in his late 70s so he could run.. It was Youth Part II for him. He lived near my brother and managed to get it done without him knowing for a year. He knew which kid to tell as my brother would have stopped him and was furious when he found out. I thought it was horrible how he yelled at my dad. It was none of his business. Sporty Jack did well from it but there is always something. Now, my brother is daddy's age then and has forgotten most likely how he treated his father. I won't be volunteering for a darn thing and that's why I am here. I will go loaded with smart questions and more knowledge. I hope his conversation helps others too. Phoggie and others. Comments (22)Different from your issue, but I do remember one time I was doubled over in terrible abdominal pain. I kept thinking it was intestinal, but it wasn't. After about an hour or so of me rolling around on the floor, it finally let up and went away. It wasn't until I saw my doctor and told him about it that he suggested it was an ovarian cyst that burst. Who knew? It's amazing we're healthy at all, given all the functions going on all the time in our bodies and how many things have to go right for us to feel well....See MoreRelief from Arthritic Pain?
Comments (42)Reading some of these replies are giving me hope. I have always managed my pain through exercise, shots (but rarely) and an occasional mix of Aspirin/Tylenol/Motrin before bed. When I get the fibromyalgia on top of arthritis I pretty much just have to ride it out. Easy Pilates helps but I‘m otherwise laid up for a bit. I have learned to work around it. Now I have another layer of pain which is heavier on the muscle pain and includes spasms. I had my blood works done in May which showed no irregularities, even my bp was normal. This latest thing sucks the life out of me. Some days I don’t even trust myself to drive due to lack of sleep which greatly affects my concentration. I do get a lunesta prescription twice a year so get some sleep relief there. My fingers have been swollen and stiff so I haven’t done much artwork. Thank goodness for the Oilist App because I can still play around with something creative. Anyway, my doc wants me to go to a Neurologist next. I keep putting it off....See Morejuneroses Z9a Cntrl Fl
