Amazon, check your delivery date

I was going to order several 'nonessential' (aquarium supplies) items and had gotten as far as checkout when I saw my delivery date was going to be April 20. Got the items for somewhere else, will be somewhat faster. I do not mind in the least if essential items are being sent out first, I'm just reporting what happened so when others go to buy a non essential item they can check the delivery date at checkout and not be surprised.

I had that happen Saturday also. I ordered a hummingbird feeder, and it will be delivered April 19 instead of in two days. I'm okay with that, but I cannot speak for the hummingbirds.

All my delivery dates are coming up as April 19 right now. I understand they are swamped and have ill employees, also on strike in NYC, I believe it was.

Just an update - The cabinet guy kept on pushing the date out and when we asked to get us a firm date, he said June 6. He then offered to refund our money because of all the delays. We went to see him at his showroom to collect our money, and he had the nerve to say that the money was going to be coming from the factory. We told him that he was the one who should be refunding the money to us ....anyhoo, one thing led to another and lots of words were exchanged and cops were called (mind you, this was a new experience for us). ....he told the cops that we should expect to get our money by Monday next week. Anyway, DH called the factory today and they told him that the KD never placed our order!!! Can you believe it? In fact, we were told that he owes them money and that he was on credit hold. They are in the process of sending a collection agency on him.... So, 6 weeks without a kitchen and a $9K loss....that is our story. We have contacted a lawyer who is going to try to help us recoup something. I am not confident that we will get much. Plus, who knows how many people he owes money to. I wish I paid with a credit card....a big lesson for us! Shame on him.....Karma is a b*tch!

I've not blocked any numbers and I get very few robo calls at home. I used to get them at work, and even there I did not answer if I did not recognize the phone number. Where I live the main area code is 310, but my number has the overlay area code 424. I don't know anyone else who has a 424 number, and so if I get a call that begins with 424, I can be pretty sure it is a robo call. My doctors numbers all have the 310 area code, and frequently when the doctor's office calls, only the number and no name shows up. I will answer 310 calls that I do not recognize for this reason, but I try to put them in my contacts list for future reference. I wish the doctor's offices would put a name in their caller ID. Most robo calls that I get do not leave a message, but if they do, it is usually in Chinese.

I think everyone must exercise a great deal of patience right now. Amazon and other online retailers are bending over backwards to fulfill the delivery of essentials to many who are unable to get out and shop locally. While this can be a good time to accomplish things around the house, let's all be mindful of the strain retailers are under. We are truly fortunate if our "needs" are actually "wants". We are all so accustomed to receiving nonessential items by next or even same day delivery, but all of a sudden our world has changed. That said, I'm glad your shipping date was bumped up. It's good to know that Amazon is doing their very best and exceeding expectations.

My comments weren't really meant to put any particular individual in the wrong, but they are a commentary about there is now an expectation that we will get a fairly high level of personal service for rock bottom prices and I don't think it's a sustainable system over time. And even lower middle class and working class people are relying on other lower middle class and working class people to provide them with these services. In one place I work someone who answers the phone and can't possibly make all that much regularly Ubers to work and orders things to eat through DoorDash. Public transportation is excellent where I live and there is a breakfast/lunch place in the lobby of our building and several other options immediately below that in the concourse below our building. It's her business how she wants to spend her money of course but it's the availability of these services that make it so easy to spend money like this on things she could just as easily do for herself. This can't go on forever.

Yes, I saw the same thing, but I wanted the item so ordered anyway. I would much rather buy things locally. I use Amazon only when I have to.

I ordered 6 drawer pulls yesterday and received them today at 4 PM. The items are obviously in stock at local warehouse in Columbus.

Amazon are also shipping prime members items before non prime members. I ordered 5 non essential items last night . 4 are coming Thursday and the one isn't coming until the end of April. The later one I don't need till June anyway. But you do have to watch the delivery dates.

Same thing here. I ordered Aspercreme for dh yesterday and it got here today. I have some other stuff that will take longer.

Of course, the dress I ordered in January isn't here yet due to it apparently being made in China. Dd can wear it next year

I have been stocking up/hoarding pet food and supplies for about a month now. I have noticed that some things are being delivered a day or two before the delivery date. An example of that is the cooling packs I need before I start home delivery of milk that were supposed to be here Wednesday but arrive today.

Depends where order is shipping from. Got 1 order two days early but have another dated April 7th thru 20th. Didn't realize until yesterday it is coming from the Netherlands. Duh on my part

I ordered a non-food item last week and received it 2 days later; same item for my son in Springfield, and he received it in 2 days. I ordered a couple of non-essential food items on March 25 (dried onions and honey sticks), which are listed as arriving Apr 3--6, but haven't been shipped. I was gratified to be given a $10.00 discount with the second order--don't know why--but I'll take it.

I got a note the other day that Amazon was going to rebate an overcharge on my last order, to contact such and such.

I've received one parcel, at least, from Amazon, ordered by someone else (my daughter in the U.S., her other home country).

BUT ... I have never made an order with Amazon.

So - how can they be rebating an overcharge??

Does anyone smell a rat, here ... or maybe a squirrel, one of those outdoor rats?

But it is rather hard to catch a smell provided by those squirrels!

I think that I can do without that supposed rebate ... does anyone here want me to transfer it to them? How much am I offered?

joyful it sounds like a scam. Amazon will refund directly without you calling anyone. Not certain what it was from but I received a $0.04 credit in my account a couple of days ago from them.

All of my orders are slower than usual. I ordered filters for my humidifier on 3/24. Expected delivery 4/22. Oh well, not going out to the stores to shop for one.
