Amazon delivery missing

I ordered some cat litter from Amazon and the tracking is showing delivered on Monday. It says it was handed to resident. I live alone and I did not receive it. Not finding anyplace on the amazon site to let them know of the problem. Any ideas?

Did they take a picture? I would first check that and verify it was your home they left it.

Amazon has great customer service and they will make it right. A few years ago, I had something like $300 of Thanksgiving groceries say they were delivered, and nowhere to be found. They not only refunded all of the money but also let me keep them when the neighbor showed up with them.

vgkg - yep, I've seen similar here. Aldi has raised their Sea Scallops twice in the last few months. They had been $9.99 for 12 oz. back in the early spring and then went up to $11.99 around May and just went up again to $13.99. Still a lot cheaper than the price you are seeing. I haven't seen snow crab for $5/lb here for over a decade. They have been in the mid teens per pound since pre-covid with an occasional sale around $10. Now I don't even bother to look at them. I'd rather have King Crab but I'm not paying what they are asking these days.

We live on an acreage in a rural area. For the most part, I have had nothing short of excellent service getting my parcels here and on time and right on the doorstep. This is important to me as I can’t drive right now due to two hip replacements . However I’ve had a few exceptions one being a few years ago I ordered an iPad for my husband for Christmas and whoever delivered it just must’ve flown it out the window to the end of our snow covered driveway and it landed in the ditch in the snow . Luckily we got home before the snow started again and I was able to spot the package and had to slog through the already deep snow to retrieve it. Thankfully it wasn’t damaged . And as I said for the most time packages come right to the door which is great but the odd time if I haven’t made it to the door fast enough they will take the package and drop it at the post office for me to pick up This is a huge inconvenience for me because I have to get my husband to pick it up on his way home from work which also means he has to leave work early as the post office closes before he would normally get there .

Yes. UPS often send my packages from Amazon to the USPS for final delivery. I hate it because my mail carrier never delivers my packages, I always have to go pick them up. UPS always delivers. I wish I could choose which carrier they use when they ship my order. I would never pick USPS, not now anyway.

My comments weren't really meant to put any particular individual in the wrong, but they are a commentary about there is now an expectation that we will get a fairly high level of personal service for rock bottom prices and I don't think it's a sustainable system over time. And even lower middle class and working class people are relying on other lower middle class and working class people to provide them with these services. In one place I work someone who answers the phone and can't possibly make all that much regularly Ubers to work and orders things to eat through DoorDash. Public transportation is excellent where I live and there is a breakfast/lunch place in the lobby of our building and several other options immediately below that in the concourse below our building. It's her business how she wants to spend her money of course but it's the availability of these services that make it so easy to spend money like this on things she could just as easily do for herself. This can't go on forever.

Some of my deliveries have had that notation which was bogus, I like it when they take a picture of the package. Hopefully you are not almost out of kitty litter.

I've seen "handed to a resident" when it wasn't too.

I think the times I've seen it was when it was shipped with USPS.

Googling the tracking number and viewing the tracking info on the USPS site did not say "handed to a resident". It would usually say something like "left in/at mailbox". Tracking info provided by USPS was correct. The tracking provided by Amazon was incorrect.

Amazon's own delivery does provide an image and that is nice. I haven't seen anybody else do that.

USPS does, at least here, record GPS coordinates when they scan a package "delivered". I had a package misdelivered once and they were able to see not only that the package was delivered to the wrong address, but to which address it was accidentally delivered to.

Personally, I'd probably just use Amazon chat and let them figure it out. They'll likely just send another.
