Thanks, but maybe I shouldn’t have put that rug pic in my post, haha. That is the rug I’m using in the dining room which is in the same open area. I just thought it was needed so the living room rug will flow nicely with it. Sorry about that. 😊

You have a good eye for furniture placement . You don't need the flowers on the wall over the sofa. I would keep the sisal rug in the LR. Ideally it should be larger. Get a new rug for the DR if you want but it is not necessary.

it feels like you are maybe wanting to go into a little more casual way with your new place... I say that because the new wood floor feels more casual and with the white and blue kitchen, maybe even beachy... could be totally off, so set me straight... that said, a few ideas for a living room carpet that also coordinates with your pretty new dining room carpet... I'm going more with solid and texture vs multi color and pattern.

That should work fine, it looks compatible with your other rug, new flooring, furniture, etc. But this pattern/color has a tendency to take on different hues depending on what’s around it ... going from gray to blue to purple, etc.

I don’t think it looks pretty, I find it utilitarian .... I guess I’m just weary of abstract rugs, the easy and safe choice.

It’s challenging to say for sure, not seeing the actual rooms they’ll be in ... seeing the context.

Just going by these collages, I don’t like the 2nd or 3rd one at all. But that’s only my opinion, doesn’t make them right or wrong for your house.

Wait until you move in. Your lighting may be completely different and the room may require a different focus.

Great advice! I’m trying to get my ducks in a row....so much to do! I’m leaning towards the following. I love the first one, but I may like the lighter version better (directly under) It does have some yellow in it and my accent pillows do not (easily changed) It may match my brownish sofas better than the gray version under it. The third one is very muted and is gray, ivory and blue....may be blah. Thoughts? Thanks everyone 😊

I like the middle one. You have elements of warm and cool tones mixing nicely, and I think this rug works very well in that respect. It also think it ties in wonderfully with your other rug.

I do not like the bottom one and listed my reasons why on the other post with it. Utilitarian, overdone in homes, the boring and safe choice. It’s just a rug underfoot.

Of your three last choices, I like this one best.
