Needing Help With Curb Appeal on a Brick Ranch
Comments (10)Hi. I am not seeing anything wrong with your roof or the brick so I am with you on not spending money there :) This really just needs the existing shrubs trimmed/removed, and new landscaping installed. I think you'll be amazed what a good landscaper can do. Opening up the entry way will add a lot of light, and you can consider changing door colors/trims. The big thing, *in my opinion only* is the landscaping! Good luck on your remodel :)...See MoreSiding Color For Terrible Roof Line
Comments (24)I'm not going to lie penny, our original intentions were to turn everything gray and white, but I couldn't bring myself to paint all of the wood trim throughout our house. It would be a shame! While it is late 1970's skinny wood trim (I've read that you should paint it if it's the skinny wood trim, they its the size that's the problem not the wood itself.), I think it will look better stained than painted white. We're going to embrace the browns and tans. Most of the houses in our neighborhood are very similar, late 1970's midsize ranch, however, there are a few like ours on every other street. They painted their brick (Of all colors, gray! LOL) and I can't/don't want to do that. What if we have to pick up and move? I'd rather give the next buyer the opportunity to do that themselves. So, I'm trying to match siding with yellowish/tan/black brick and a brown roof, and according to my husband and a few family members, I'm color blind! So, I'll take all the advise and help I can get! :)...See MoreUgly 50s house, corner windows create a problem? Add color?
Comments (7)Change your landscaping. You will fall back in love with your home :) As mentioned above, adding shutters won't help and you don't have the room for them anyway. You have a very nice home. The landscaping is not up to date - it is "blocking" any welcoming entry to your home. Post in the landscaping subforum here on houzz to see what plan those posters can show you. They are truly awesome....See MoreRaised red brick ranch siding color
Comments (21)have you decided what you'd like the final result to be? do you like the red brick and the vintage ranch style or would you like to modernize it? Now would be the time. As for the red brick, there are products like Romabio w/very little maintenance upkeep. their masonry paint is guaranteed for 20 years. and it's natural, a mineral product. If you took away the metal posts, added the cedar, painted the brick white, and did something like this, it would look amazing brick painted a deep warm charcoal, added wood elements and a bit more modern redos. Since this is your one chance for a full makeover, decide what it is you want first...See MoreCelery. Visualization, Rendering images
