New vinyl windows...try to match trim color or just do white?
Comments (4)JudyG Designs, I had planned on adding trim around the windows but now, after looking at that picture again, I may not. The first row of siding is actually a PVC starter board so it'd have to be notched to put trim below all the horizontal sliders. And there isn't a lot of room around the bay windows for trim. I guess I'm indifferent on the trim. What's your opinion?...See MoreMatching colors for existing pool and fence? Should i try to change?
Comments (15)Agree with ( ) with one possible exception: Know what kinds of plants you have and manage their upkeep in the best interest of the plants. It may, in fact, be that you want to let the shrubs /trees grow for privacy above the fence and eventually be able to cut the lower limbs so they're not touching/scrapping against the fence or holding moisture against it, especially for when you might actually need to repaint them. If you ever do repaint the fence, don't choose white -- go with a color that is found in the natural woods -- a "nature" color such as another cedar or redwood or brown wood or even a dark green to mimic the greenery around the pool. Even some shade of a gray would be better than white or blue. Then, too, there are paints that are intended to look like wood grain (but I've never used one so cannot recommend for or against the use of them. Do protect and keep the solid fence as long as possible. Privacy is liberating rather than suffocating -- and I'm not talking about nude bathing either ... just being able to relax without a nosy neighbor counting your guests or watching you add sunscreen or trying to lip read or having to clean up after their pets that squeeze thru the fence -- or having their kids seeing the water and becoming envious enough and/or bold enough to do something dangerous. White furniture would go well with the blue pool but it might look dirtier more quickly....See MoreTrying to match BM Cloud white trim to Level or cellular shades

Comments (10)Thanks all! Yes, we have a hallway that I believe has Acadia White on the walls, and there is definitely a cream vibe going on there--one reason I'm a little reluctant to do the walls in the new bath with it against the tile. I had Navajo White on my list to check out, and have added Glacier White too based on looking at the Chroma values, though I think I want to go lighter than the trim vs. darker. (We have Edgecomb Gray in the existing bath and I like it against the tiles we're using, but it's definitely a gray, so need something lighter than that.) The room has a south-facing window with LED lighting (some in a bathroom fan where I don't think we have much control over color, and then wall sconces where we do)....See MoreConstance C O'Brien
