Help! Question about trim matching white cabinets
Comments (3)Oxford White is CC-30. It's on the same card as decorator's white in my sample. Now I am having major second thoughts on the White Dove because of some of the comments that I have read. People who have it seem to love it but many others have commented that it looks dingy. I really don't know what to think but after comparing our shutters, doors and trim to my samples, they are definitely Oxford White. I'm thinking that I definitely have to choose either Oxford White or something that is noticeably different. I asked my local store about samples. Yes, they will mix me a sample for $10. (Highway robbery if I want five lol) They did have some old small sample jars in their Affinity collection. They're very cheap so maybe I'll buy a few of those to give me an idea if I want a white or an off white/cream. Does anyone have a paint suggestion?...See MoreWhite dove(BM) or Dove white (SW) what is the difference
Comments (9)Benjamin Moore White Dove OC 17 LRV 85.38 / Undertones: Creamy greige / Temperature: Slightly warm White Dove accommodates a lot of different paint colours because while it is a warm white, it has an almost greige base that calms it right down. This way it doesn’t come off as creamy/warm as Cloud White, but also isn’t as stark/cool as Chantilly Lace. White Dove is a soft white, so it won’t act like white, but just a VERY slightly softer version of it. Pick it: If you want a versatile white trim/door/ceiling colour that will accommodate a lot of cool and warm toned paint colours throughout your home. If you want a warm, but not too yellow wall colour Ditch it: If you prefer a more clean, crisp look Instead: Check out Simply White or Decorators White SW Dover White has more yellow undertones, so is a more creamy white IMO....See MoreWhite house with white trim— different shades?
Comments (17)Pretty house. Don’t have any input regarding your colors as I am a fan of super white trim with a contrasting body color (although I do love a crisp white house) ...but...regarding the shutters, you could make cardboard samples for them and have someone hold them up to see how close they will be to one another. Whatever you decide about the upper windows, make sure you use hinges and shutter dogs for the shutters (looks like the architect put them on the elevation). With the shutters properly attached with hinges, you will have more space between each shutter than you would have if they were installed in todays typical way by basically pasting them onto the siding next to the window (plus they will look so much better and realistic). I would also consider omitting the shutters on your French doors. They will be HUGE if properly sized and don’t know that it will be a good look on your house....See MoreLooking for Blue and White Something for Bedroom Wall
Comments (56)He is doing better, we are eight days out from surgery and he needs the walker less than he did. Back to the dr tomorrow, and another surgery in a couple of weeks. If I take the time to stop and think about it all, these last 18 months have been really terrible, and the year before that wasn’t much better. But it’s funny, you know? We have still lived our lives, bought a new house, sold our old one, sold our office building, MOVED, bought a car, switched all our insurance.....so many of the everyday things compressed in between DHs surgeries. And when I say “we” did it I really mean I did. I’m not complaining—I’m grateful—but just feel the enormity of what has happened and been done over the past few years. It’s little wonder I sometimes forget to take my pills at night. But we are here and all mostly in one piece and surviving just like everybody else. For a long time I could not even have imagined i would be at a point at which I could worry about finding something for a bedroom wall. Sometimes thinking about the small things makes you realize how many big things you have had to manage to get there. Thank you all very much for your concern, I appreciate it and all of you....See MoreMarylee H
