Your very favorite favorite!
Comments (40)Keep searching! By the middle to end of summer, lots of bulb companies will have their websites updated with new listings of bulbs... and the Fall 2008 catalogs will be available! If you Google "fall bulbs" or "amaryllis" or "hippeastrum", or any key word combination related to indoor forcing bulbs or bulbs for indoor forcing, you should get lots of results with tons of links to follow! Companies that sell Tulips and Daffodils often sell Hippeastrum bulbs, as well. I searched last fall for online catalogs and retail sellers of hippeastrum, and I found lots of links to stores and places to order from! One of my favorite places is Royal Colors... John Scheeper's is another good bulb company... Brent & Becky's, Blooming Bulb, Dutch Gardens, Nature Hills, Garden Import, and the list goes on... A Google search for amaryllis bulbs should net a good amount of places to begin looking! Here is a link that might be useful: Royal Colors...See MoreWhat is your favorite 'Heuchera' as a companion to Hosta?
Comments (19)ok, now I actually found one I want, Monet. Monet my favorite artist, I have a real love, a passion, a driving need, for art and Monet speaks to me as no other artist does. No matter how much I may love another artist work. I love Monet's work so much that I keep a folder of his work by my computer to look at most everyday, did my bedroom in a Monet theme, and named my best friend, my hosta dog, my standard poodle, Monet. I have just got to have a plant named after Monet. I really never did take much note of the Heuchera's other than an interesting contrast to the hostas, but if anyone can tell me where to find the one named Monet, it will be given a star spot in my gardens....See MoreWhat are your favorite small/medium hostas?
Comments (12)Ken, I've got a great Rainforest Sunrise, so you don't have to track down a pic. I'd already thought about moving a section; your endorsement confirmed that decision. Lois -- Radiant Edger is terrific! My Hadspen Blue is probably in too much shade; it doesn't look nearly as good as yours. Maybe I'll move mine. The shape of Hadspen Heron is intriguing; how large is it? From the pics, I'd guess that both HH and Golden Specter are somewhat small. Thanks for your input! Comments (48)Esther_opal, or anyone else who reads this and might be able to answer...could you please tell me, what are the two hostas at the top of your first pic from 6/3/08? The one on the top left is what my June looks like with more shade, and the one on the bottom right is what my June looks like in more sun, but the one I like the most is the one that is on the top right of your pic. That blue-gray smokiness isn't in my Junes, and yet a lot of you have those gorgeous Junes that I can't seem to get regardless of the amount of sun. Mine are mature divisions of the same plant so I doubt it's an age issue thing. Could it be an individual plant variation then, or is there another sport of June or Halcyon (perhaps Paradise Joyce) that I'm drooling over?? Many thanks......See MoreStevePA6a
