I would not do a valance.

I agree with the above comment. Valances feel a bit dated to me; drapery panels are simpler and more elegant. I'd also consider using woven wood shades vs. the cellular shades you have.

Yes, i dont want valance either! I was thinking of window panels too.. but wasnt sure if the corners are gonna b too busy...thank u for the visual.

Corners will not be busy. It will feel like a breath of fresh air. The panels will also highlight the height of your ceilings. They will look fabulous.

I would go with new shades and possibly curtain panels. No valances. Do you need blinds for privacy?

If so, I would update them with a natural blind or shade. You may put up new shades and decide you don't need any other treatments for the windows.

Keep in mind that if you use panels you are probably going to need at least two panels per side, if not they will look skimpy. The windows will be partially covered.

Since you don't have a lot of wall space at the ends, you'd have to hang a panel in between each window also. A skimpy panel at each end is not going to look fabulous. And then hanging fuller panels would cover a good portion of the end windows. Not sure you'd want that, either.

Does skimpy panel mean the one that u just put to the sides?

Yes, meaning one skinny panel. It's all you'd have room for. Since you have three windows, side by side, it gives the look of a wide window, so one store bought panel at each end will look skimpy.

Also attaching the other side of the room. This is an old pic and lot has changed in the room, I dont have the same couch and also the have moved the curtain up, so the ends are not on the floor like that.

I would leave just the blinds. It looks clean. Remember most of the light comes into the room from the top of the windows.

I would have left it alone too, but since its a open space and one side has panels, just blinds would look odd I thought
