Following. Most of the gold hardware I see is with paneled appliances. How does mixing metals work with straight up stainless?

Would the faucet be directly on the sink, or on the counter as Katie B's first picture shows?

Kristin brings up a great point. If the faucet is installed directly on the sink, you could add a strip of stone (or whatever your counter is) to break up the metals. I wouldn’t put them on top of each other.

I have 4 Delta champagne bronze faucets in all my bathrooms from the Cassidy collection, and they are gorgeous and have held up well for about 3 years now. Stainless steel sinks and appliances got where they are in ubiquity because they are cost-effective and hold up in hard-working kitchens, so there aren't a lot of gold sinks and appliances available because stainless steel fits the need and keeps costs down over large surface areas compared to gold finishes. If you like the gold, I see no reason why you couldn't incorporate it. We do have some silver accents in the bathrooms with the champagne bronze faucets, and they blend in just fine.

The gold faucet will be on the countertop.

How about matte black cabinet hardware? He dining area is right next to the kitchen. trying to think about the lighting fixture

Maybe black on your island and champagne on the perimeter cabinets. You can always tie the colors together with lighting fixtures. What counters are you doing?

champagne faucet and light, black cabinet hardware, stainless sink and appliances would look great together. I wouldn’t do just the faucet in champagne though- coordinate it somewhere else.

White cast iron is more maintenance than stainless? Opposite in my experience. Also consider fireclay. If you prefer stainless, always buy the thickest gauge w sound deadening and do your research on finishes.

Stainless - satin vs brushed vs mirror. Stainless can scratch, so usually some form of brushed or satin will hide scratches.

Esther - we went from a white cast iron sink to a stainless a couple of years ago. I honestly think the stainless is more upkeep. We have hard water in our area and the stainless shows every water spot unless you dry the sink after using it (which I actually do quite a bit because I hate looking at the spots). At least with the cast iron, you clean it once really good for the day and it actually looks cleaner.

So if you really want cast iron, I would get it. One of the main reasons we switched from cast iron to stainless is because at the time the Kohler plant was months behind in their orders for white cast iron (other colors were still available) because of a fire at one of their plants. Stainless was also less expensive.

@Esther Parra If you do go with a Kohler Whitehaven sink or something similar, read the Amazon reviews, would be my advice (surface marring is not uncommon). Another option for stainless is an actual three-dimensional pressed finish that helps disguise scratches and water spots. Two companies of which I am aware offer this, Havens Metal and Rachiele, both expensive brands. Havens Metal's finish is called "Prestige," and you can order a sample square if you're interested.
