I'll say cooking food as well. It will be like on Star Trek. Just tell a robotic machine what you want from whatever cuisine, planet, life form, galaxy, etc.

I will also guess commuting. Didn't cross my mind at first because I don't commute. :-)))

Telling the kids to pick up their socks will no longer be necessary because Rosie will be patrolling the house and picking up after us all. I'm pretty sure I spend close to 15 hours per week doing that.

I can tell you that a lot of hospital nurses (and probably hospitalists) will be praying that it is charting in EMRs as they currently exist. Because in my department, approximately 2-4 hours (at least) of a 12 hour shift are spent on entering data into the EMR.

Eating? I remember as a kid, hearing that someday we would just swallow a capsule or pill instead.

But I'd rather it would be cooking, because we'd all have replicaters!

Wow. I can't think of anything that takes up two hours a day, seven days a week. "Advances in technology" and "no longer necessary" make me think of commuting to/from work, because more folks could be teleworking after advances in technology, but very few folks work seven days a week.

Reduction in commuting time: For a portion of the population, the daily commute will be eliminated. The technology: Improved internet connection with display screens that will allow face to face conversations without participants being in the same room.

How sad that we got to place where two hours commuting is even a thing. Mine is 6 minutes. We moved to a small town so DH's commute went from 10 miles=an hour to 20 miles=20 minutes.
