Are you quilting this weekend? March 20-22
Comments (13)Theresa, The blocks are all together and am in the process of sewing the rows together. I only made it 6 blocks X 8 blocks but will probably put a border on it. I haven't been able to work on it for very long at a time as I've had to take a few pain pills to ease discomfort........and then would have to snooze a bit. And, have also been trying to get my hearts together...almost there....sigh. Looks like I posted that Friday was National Quilting Day when it was actually Saturday, the 21st. I guess I started early. I'll get pictures up as soon as I can. Have a good week everyone!...See MoreAre you quilting this weekend? March 10-12
Comments (15)Working on 3 different projects right now and making decent progress. One should be finished tomorrow and another needs sashing and borders added to blocks. Then on to a sandwich and a quilt. The 3rd one goes with me for a 3 hour machine quilting class Saturday morning. We were given the option of a runner or a small quilt top - I chose the runner. It's ready to go and sandwiched. I'm hoping to learn some things that make that major part of quilting go a little smoother. I'm sure I'll find out something I'm doing the wrong or hard way and the teacher can point me in the right direction. Got company coming in on Sunday for 3 days so not much will get done past tomorrow but we'll keep plugging....See MoreAre you quilting this weekend? March 24-26
Comments (9)Lois, it looks good! I also find it helps to take a photo to find those little things that usually jump out at you as soon as you finish the quilt. :) Valarie, enjoy your guild! You probably don't remember, but back when I started my current job two years ago, my boss was Valarie spelled like yours. She left a month after I started, but now she's back! She's in a different job in the finance department. It's nice to have her back! I'm still in shoulder-surgery-recovery mode. It's getting better every day, but it sure is slow! I hardly wear the sling any more, and I'm trying very hard to use it normally as much as I can. I've been driving a rental car since I hurt it in January (!!) because our car is a stick shift. The rental is due back on Apr. 8 and I'm really hoping I'll be able to drive our car by then. I'll probably do a bit of work on my hand piecing project. I need to cut more pieces, so we'll see if I'm up to the ruler and rotary cutter yet. Donna...See MoreAre you quilting this weekend? March 23-24
Comments (8)No quilting this weekend. I packed up my little Janome Jem for the trip home to Minnesota. She's been living in Hawaii for a few years. My grandkids are coming to spend spring break with us here on Maui, and then we'll be heading home on April 2. We still haven't got a buyer for our condo, but I know these things take time. Grrrr. We're taking the kids on a whale watch and we're going to the great aquarium that they have on island. We'll also do some snorkeling, swimming and canoeing and visit the top of the dormant volcano, Haleakala. We found a great beach where the huge honu (sea turtles) come ashore to bask in the sun. They're traveling by themselves for the first time (they're 18 and 16), so it's sure to be an adventure. Enjoy the spring weather wherever you are....See Morebev2009
