Comments (20)Marji, A new home with a dedicated sewing studio! Lucky you!! Calliope, When I do a Depression Block, I like to have a distinct light and dark between the 2 sides. It seems to make the pattern 'pop' better. But, there are times a muted look is desired, too. Lois, Your turtles are so cute! And, they're green....watch out, Beverly might snag them. lol You're welcome, Bobby. Glad you like them and they are useful......I like that they're clear and I can see what's in them. :-) TG/Linda, Can't believe you're running out of things to work on. How about doing a reverse redwork project? Donna, It makes me so frustrated when something like that happens......don't want it to get the best of me and it looks like you're the same way. I. Will. Get. This. Right! lol I'm doing a grid on this quilt and using the blue painter's tape. It's working out pretty well. I just might be able to get it up there before the shower after all......maybe. :-) SharonG/FL...See MoreAre you quilting this weekend? March 22-24
Comments (24)Thanks Calliope. Today I finished hand-sewing Card Tricks blocks #90 and #91 - just 9 blocks left to make! I am so excited to be this close to finishing this project. Once I get the blocks made, will set them aside and make a baby quilt for a friend, and then after that is done will later in the year hand-sew all 100 blocks together - the points are so thick where the triangles meet up that I am afraid it would break needs if I sew it on the machine and by doing it by hand I can make sure all the points turn out pretty. Calliope what does GFG stand for? I am still trying to learn all the abbreviations on the Quilting Forum. Hope everyone has a great weekend. Best to you, Sandra...See MoreAre you quilting this weekend? April 24-26
Comments (11)I am making quilted Christmas ornaments this weekend for future Christmas presents and crocheting a doily for my cousin's graduation present. We are going out to eat with F-I-L and M-I-L tonight and my son is going to a friend's house for a sleep over. So I will be kid free for 24 hours. Then Saturday night my son comes home and his friend will be spending the night at our house. So far we have not had really bad weather today..... the sky was really dark for most of the morning and we had some light rain, it's just about past us now and sky has brightened back up. My son only has 3 weeks of elementary school left..... next year he will be in jr. high.....time is flying by. Today starts week 7 of the shingles ... I am so ready for it to be gone. Yay! ... the sun is peaking out of the clouds in my back yard, hope it's pretty the rest of the day and evening....See MoreAre you quilting this weekend? March 26-27
Comments (9)I finished the latest tee shirt quilt (everyone seems to want the shadow pattern), and got the center for another I-spy finished. I have noticed the shirts with the vinyl iron on patterns tend to crack a bit. Anyone know how to prevent that? I use Pellon 911ff stabilizer....See Moremsmeow
