suggestions on window treatments?
Comments (4)Comfortable and cozy solution is drapes. They insulate tempurature and dampen sound. The fabric will draw from the center column to the sides, so the curtain rods will extend a foot or two beyond the window frame. I suggest Miulee thermal insulated light blocking (blackout) drapes. We use them and they are great. Nice textures and nice colors. They hang narrow enough not to worry about blocking the view when open. They are lightweight so they won't weigh down a long rod. Make sure the rod is mounted so the fabric just brushes the floor for the best insulation. Order them wide. Two 52" panels per pane so four orders if they still ship two panels per order. Very reasonable....See Morewindow treatment suggestions anyone ?
Comments (11)We are mainly interested in keeping the house cool. Specifically during Texas summer. The back windows are pointing towards 8 acres with a tree farm, so there is plenty of privacy. There is a second floor open loft area that also has a view of the backyard from the top windows you see on the original picture. We would like for the windows to be unobstructed to allow the amazing backyard view to be enjoyed at different points of the house. There will also be a fake beam on the vaulted ceiling. Will add a few more pics to give you more context of the space...See MoreWindow treatment suggestions
Comments (2)The shutter solution was the only way to deal with the complicated window shape configuration. IMO the next step would be to replace some window shapes. Once you change the windows you can then install normal drapery rods and panels....See MoreWhat window treatments would you suggest?
Comments (7)Patricia I use to sleep here but the window treatment on the left use to match the right it broke and I didnt know where it was from to replace so I ended up sleeping in the 2nd bedroom lol and using this as a closet and a watch TV while I put my close away room eventually ill start sleeping there again. I had a friend coming to stay with me so I ran over to ikea and cut the motorized one (left) to fit the width and I was thinking of removing the one on the right and doing the same ikea motorized one as its very affordable. I guess the dilemma is that I realized while the ikea shade solved the issue I had with the one on the right (im too short to reach) it took away the solution of sheer coverage during the day the originals had Lastly to be honest I don't love the look of either it looks unfinished a little too commercial property and of course the fact that they don't match is probably only highlighting this for me The door always bothered me and I figured I should ask this community for their creative solutions. Its actually the brick exterior so that's why they couldn't match the height. I love sunny rooms I think it makes decor look better and I would like to add plants as I have SE exposure here Also! Thats a closet with open storage above not a window...See MoreChristina
