You can add a cork underlayment to the Coretec One series. If it's just you and your dog you should be fine. If you had 2 or more additional people in the house I would push you towards one of the better lines.

I'll avoid the discussion about whether this is the right look for your home. But I have Coretec LVT (tiles, travertine-look) and can speak to the installation and durability. Surface prep was not easy. I live in a 100-year-old house with wavy subfloor, and my contractor installed a few hundred pounds' worth of leveling compound to get to within the manufacturer's recommended tolerance of "flat". Install was very easy. We did floating, no glue, because we have radiant in-floor heat and didn't want to worry about subfloor temps getting too warm for the glue. The durability is fantastic, and I'd do it again for that reason. We have a 100-pound dog, a puppy, three cats, and lots of muddy hiking and skiing boots, and the floor looks as good as it did when it was installed 3-1/2 years ago. We use a mini-mop with a spray bottle of floor cleaner, and a handheld steamer for deeper cleaning.

Unfortunately thus far designer has been more focused on the looks of things and I get very little useful feedback when I ask "technical" questions so not holding my breath. Sounds like maybe you should consider another designer. I am really terrible about making choices for my home that bring to life the perfectly staged vision in my head.... I also almost immediately regret those choices. I'm building a new home and this time around I'm really trying to stay focused on the LIVABILITY of the house to hopefully make everyone, including myself, a little less crazy! All of the COREtec products with the "Pro" name have a solid polymer core (SPC). The others, besides their "Stone" offerings, have a wood polymer core (WPC). SPCs are harder, more durable, and more dent resistant. The WPCs are warmer, quieter, and softer underfoot. Enhanced means painted bevels and embossed in register. Embossed in register is where the texture on the planking matches the grain and knotholes. I hope this helps!
