What color shutters would look good on this house?
Comments (16)I think the black/deep charcoal suggestion is a terrific one. I had thought that myself. I also agree with making the small sections of siding dark too. The house lacks contrast. As suggested on the other thread, go to the Sherwin Williams website and find the color visualizer. Upload a picture of the house and play around with the deeper colors. Be sure and post the results-I'd love to see them!...See MoreWhat color fascia and frieze trim colors would look good?

Comments (5)I like the classic combo of dark shutters and red door as seen in the below insp pic. You can paint the shutters a very dark blue (nearly black) or very dark green almost black. Do remove the shutters on the lower window which are undersized for the window. The front door should be your accent color, whichever color you choose. The back door should blend into the siding color. Please take a moment to read this brief article on proper sizing for shutters: https://www.lifeofanarchitect.com/residential-architecture-101-shutters/ If you can, I also think the 1990's decorative arch above the lower window should be removed. If you are a little bit more bold, then consider a golden yellow front door or a dark green door color....See MoreFront door, trim, and shutter colors?
Comments (4)Tough on the front door since anything dark will get too hot. So have you thought to change the door to a proper wood door? Otherwise I would do a light blue shade of beige. as to the shutters I think a soft pale green or sage would be nice. Since the heat is such an issue I would build a little front porch with a roof that would fit the house and provide some much needed shade there, in turn this may allow you to have the door color of your choice. I would give that some thought first. The pediments above each window need to stay as they are, they where not decorative rather functioned for shade i believe. I do not believe your home would have had shutters....See MoreDenita
