why do so few people post pics of their finished bathrooms?
Comments (90)Love all of these Bathroom photos! Thanks for posting! I'm in the middle of planning 4 bathrooms myself. I think Ann Kathryn is correct about why people don't post. After all of your planning and hard work, it's difficult when people are less enthusiastic about your project, even when you know every single flaw yourself! Posters need to be mindful of individual taste and geographical location. Certain remodels may not suit everyone's style, but that's why there's chocolate, vanilla and strawberry. My Mother used to say, "If you can't say anything nice, don't say anything at all!"...See MoreIn search of a bathroom faucet
Comments (16)Yes, although I also looked at the Trinsic, but thought the Ara might work better. If faced with a two-handle faucet, my child will very quickly destroy it by twisting it too hard and too far to make sure that the water is actually off. Not sure why so concerned about getting the water off. One would think it would be obvious that the water is off, but my child is hearing impaired (so can't hear if it is running) and a few years ago was constantly leaving the bathroom with the water running full force. I think seeing my alarm when I realized the water was still running and also having to answer me when I would ask whether the water had been completely turned off prompted my child to go to extreme measures to make sure the water is totally off---to the point of breaking faucets. My child also has some vision difficulties, as well as dementia---thus forgetting to do things like turn off the water. So we need sturdy faucets and, definitely, one-handle faucets. I do like the look of the Hansgrohe, but pretty certain it's more expensive than the Delta faucets I've been considering....See MoreBathroom faucets -- what did you pick and why?
Comments (33)It's a crazy mix. Why? Because we wanted certain features(local water conservation codes), and we also wanted to save money, and we also wanted it to look pretty... Little did we know. So: diverter/ handle in the shower is Delta, shower head is Kohler, hand held shower thing is Brizo(which is Delta line I guess?), tub faucet plus telephone shower and vanity faucets are Signature Hardware and I expect them to be a huge headache even though they are cute.. I forgot what brand is this thingy-magingy that holds the shower head in the shower:) It might be Delta or Kohler. We had to look for it too, for inadequate amount of time. This brand has only size X in stock, while you need size Y; and that brand-has only different finish in stock...Tiresome, to say the least. If I only knew how much energy and time it will take to put together this stupid polished nickel puzzle, I'd just order an expensive set I loved right away. We still had to tweak, return parts, order parts (not exactly our fault but there was a hiccup with measurements, on the builder's part), and lost some money on that too. And maybe it even wouldn't be polished nickel. Don't know why we thought polished nickel is readily available in every model and arrives the next day..))) The reality is very very different. In short. Don't do it. Don't be like inexperienced us. Health is more important. Just order everything at once and make sure you like it. You'll pay more maybe, but save on Advil..)))...See MoreBathroom sink faucet screw won't open
Comments (20)I am not a plumber. I started trying to fix the faucet that spurts out water when it turns to the hot side. The water spurts from under the handle into and then out from under it. Last night the pipes started to leak. It looks like it leaks from 4 places. The hose that attaches to the hot water drips. Three of the connections. Im willing to try it myself before we bring in a plumber and take the risk. We could go without the sink till this virus blows over. Here are better pictures marking where it leaks. When I turn on the faucet, most of the water goes down the drain. Some of it leaks frm where the pipes connects under the sink, the two parts where the pipes connect, and the hose for the hot water. The hose for the hot water I'm not sure where the leaks starts for it. I just see water dripping down it and dripping down. You're saying I should just replace the whole handle instead of using the warranty. If I leave that for last, how do I first fix the pipes that are leaking? Is it an issue that everything where the water hoses connect look rusted? This would be my first time doing something like this and its a good time to force myself to get it done. I don't have a wrench that is wide enough to wrap around the screw to tighten it....See MoreNidnay
