How would you furnish this odd shaped livingroom?
Comments (13)How about a small banquette seating arrangement in the corner under the windows with a round table and a couple of parsons chairs for the game area? You could then use a loveseat in place of the sofa and an opposing pair of chairs (it would be nice if you could float these into the room so the traffic pattern doesn't cut right through the seating but I don't think you have enough depth). Or you could have the loveseat face the 8 1/2' wall, again floating it into the room, with the back facing the dining room (put a narrow sofa table behind it). Otherwise I would agree with Teacats that a sectional in the corner would be another option....See MoreI Need a furniture plan for an odd shaped room!!
Comments (10)Eleven feet is plenty, so I would keep the sofa forward of the traffic path. I was thinking if your tv was above your fireplace, you would need 6-8 feet between it and your sofa (depending on the size of your tv) and wanted to make sure it wouldn't impede traffic to the garage. I like your mock-up and your enthusiasm! Maybe you have more space than I thought. Is it possible for you to post a picture with your sofa in front of the fireplace and your chair (or two - any chair would do for the second one) by the fireplace? Really, if you like the arrangement for tv viewing and feel there is adequate room to move around, it's a win. One thing to mention, some people don't like sectionals because they feel they are limiting in terms of rearrangement. We have one in our family room, but it works for our purposes. It's really a personal preference thing, and I wouldn't want to talk you into making an impulse buy. LOL...See MoreTrying to combine two rooms into one large kitchen but very odd shape
Comments (25)Using @itsourcasa layout as an example to illustrate your plans vs theirs, I have marked in RED the "foundation wall" of the kitchen (where you base your focus from and eminate it out from there, if you will). In BLUE is living/dining in the same manner. In ORANGE are those pesky humans. See how with itsourcasa there is interaction, communication, and focus directed on areas where people naturally want to congregrate? In yours, see how you have segregated that? To be clear, this is not an "open concept" kitchen vs a "closed kitchen," you can easily open up some of a wall and still feel like a "closed kitchen" if that is what you prefer. Rather, it is the segregation and diverging focus of the adjacencies. Also, functionally I would think the kitchen would want to be close/interact with the Party room and outdoor eating when the pool area is such a dominant force in this property....See MoreHello I live in florida and have a odd shaped home. Any suggestions?
Comments (3)Both of those comments need to be heeded for sure . I have no clue from those not to scale planns The drwing you need to post should be to scale showing every window and doorway where those doorways lead all measurements clearly marked and I usually find graph paper makes scaled drawing easier to do....See Moretpazos
