bathroom decor help

This is our half bath and I’d like to add some art with some color but can’t decide if I’ll regret putting something over the wallpaper, which wall to put it on and if an acrylic frame would be neat so the wallpaper shows through or if a regular frame (white?) would be better so it’s not too busy. Also, over the toilet or on the wall beside the toilet?

The basket it a catch all currently for my kids tooth brushes (because we’re in that phase of life) but would love to add decorative things as well to make it easier on the eye.

I think some wood shelves or a cabinet above the toilet would be nice. It would help fill some of the blank space and provide storage. (The thought of toothbrushes being kept behind a toilet in an open basket is skeeving me out a bit). You could add some decorative elements above which should add more style to the space.

I like your wallpaper and mirror. If you do decide to add art, I would frame it in a color similar to your mirror's frame. I don't think I would hang art above the toilet because your mirror is so pretty, maybe across from the toilet.

Beautiful blank slate bathroom! Maybe a patterned shower curtain. My taste would be on nature. Leaves on the shower curtain, rust and olive towels. Or a burgundy and cream. Nice artwork and fresh flowers.

What stands out to me is the outlet is in the wrong place. I'm not sure it's even to code with it that close to the sink. Our outlet is just off the edge of the vanity. Then you'd be able to place the mirror correctly by turning it vertically. The sconces also look like they're hung too high. The shades should be at eye level. Other than that, a towel bar and art over it on the blank wall.

I think that Alyssa mirror works much better. The coloring is less red, there is gray, it's darker, and it has some grain showing which gives it more rustic feel. There's nothing wrong with rustic. But if you decide to go more modern, that same style frame, but in a brushed silver metal, would look nice.
