Please help me decorate my bathroom! (Thank you!)
Comments (9)That looks like a room I would have. I'd go with hershey bar chocolate brown and werther's butterscotch gold and maybe some off white. Maybe stripe or figured towels? I didn't see a shower. Maybe a mirror on that long wall? There are lots of oval stenciled ones around. I know. I've been looking at mirrors. I like yours a lot. Tell me about it. Maybe another one with a similar frame hung the long way? It looks like your medicine cabinet is about half way of the long wall? Then build your art work around the mirror? It might add some depth, too. I drag home 3 or 4 times as many things as I think I will use, hold them up and return the ones that don't cut it. I'll be doing that real soon. I want to have my paper up first. Yup. Papering. There's something about paper that speaks to me....See MorePlease help me decorate my bathroom! (Thank you!)
Comments (27)OH! THANK YOU! I am so loving ALL your ideas and suggestions, and believe me, I am seriously considering each and every one of them! OK... so I cut out some sheets of paper the sizes of the pictures we have been considering. The 4 pieces of paper on the long wall represent the four 13.5" Sturbridge ("4 Seasons") prints. I think they fill the wall nicely! The 2 pieces of paper above the toilet represent the two 8" x 10" Warren Kible prints (the cat and the pig). (Boo seems to approve!!!) THEN, I'll change out the toilet seat (probably a plain white one... or maybe black???), and maybe replace the magazine holder with something like this... ... and call it *DONE*!!! So, what do you guys think?! And remember, you can be BRUTALLY honest!!! Really! ;o)...See MorePlease HELP decorate this bathroom
Comments (17)I was hoping some others would have some more suggestions (as I'm sure you were, too) because maybe they have some brilliant ideas. Honestly, I think you just need to get some mock ups up there and see what works best. For me, the only thing that would keep it from making me crazy (the placement of that chute and toilet) would be to incorporate it visually in some kind of arrangement. Use brown paper, or wrapping paper, or cardboard and try different things. I'd probably, if there is enough room to the left of the toilet (can't really tell because of the angle of the pic) try a larger vertical piece - or a stack of 2 or 3 things that come down at the bottom close to the back of the toilet. Then work my way right with a few pieces to surround the chute and fill the wall. I don't mean fill, as in packed with pieces, just eliminating as much blank wall as possible to detract from the chute. Kind of like if you pretended the chute was one of these chairs and the chest was the toilet - but also carried further right. An asymmetrical arrangement that isn't too busy, especially with too many small pieces. I think this looks great because of the similar subjects and framing, plus all the light background against the light wall. I don't think I'd use the shelves on this wall, but maybe someplace else in the room. Or would they fit on the wall that juts out in the pic? Or maybe just ignore the chute and try something like this:...See MoreHelp with bathroom tile and decor ideas please!
Comments (7)@la_la Girl Thanks for responding. Many of the choices are either busy via matching floor and wall tile or smaller tile like 8-9 inch hexagon on the wall or floor (I'm personally not a hex fan). We're considering a lighter version of the current floor tile (the one on the left in this picture). But then I don't know if that'd make the bathroom a little too boring with the shower tile and if the undertone still works as well?...See Moredaisiesandbutterflies
