Paint colors kitchen and rest of house
Comments (1)My friend is a real estate stager and her favorite Ben Moore yellow is "Hawthorne Yellow". She says everyone always likes it. Give it a try! Also, you might have better response in the Home Decorating section. The "Paint" forum tends to be more on the technical side of things (Like oil vs. latex, etc.)....See MoreMudroom - closed or open locker/cubby system?
Comments (5)We had a house with open cubbies near the garage, away from public view and the kids always shoved their coats and backpacks in the cubbies. They looked messy but at least were off the floor. We recently moved to a new house which has gorgeous built in closed door cubbies and I’m contemplating remodeling them for these reasons: 1. When you open these beautiful doors, you get hit by a nasty strong odor from their belongings which hasn’t dried properly. (am trying to figure out how to vent these) 2. It takes too much effort for these elementary kids to open The beautiful drawers below to put their shoes in, and even if they did manage to do that, they wouldn’t dry properly - again. Need venting. 3. These kids can’t seem to find their belongings when they are not openly visible to them, causing a lot of stress during those late mornings. 4. You can fit a lot more things in open cubbies versus having to account for door and drawer fronts. If anyone has advice on how to make closed door systems more real-life friendly, I’m all ears. But for now, I’m investigating my options on how to convert the cubbies to be more open without ripping the whole thing out....See MoreEntryway/Foyer/Mudroom for Open Home
Comments (3)You have a beautiful home! IMO, the natural spot is the storage closet area. I'm a fan of a clean entryway so I'd keep coats, jackets behind door(s) to reduce the visual clutter. Either use the closed storage you have now and place a bench under the picture, or open it all up and create a space similar to the one AuntThelma suggested. Another suggestion for opening the space up and creating a grander entry: change the swing of your front door so the handle is by the sidelight window. Since you're handy, you can leave the light switches where they are and install Lutron Pico wireless switches by the window and easily operate the lights....See MoreEntrance/mudroom dilemma in a very open concept loft condo
Comments (3)IMO remove the cabinet by the stroller and install anice big armoire for coats shoes etc. As for anything else the kids take it to their rooms ours did it for years in a samll house .You have a ton of space right there for all kinds of storage ....See Morerichfield95
