Zapata Falls. Mosca Colorado. We hiked in on the river wearing cleats. Me. Photo taken by DH. There are several 3' high boulder shelfs to climb up. Solid ice!

Ziplining, Selvatura Park, Costa Rica (photo was taken by the zipline company)

Also ziplining with my niece!! I am somewhat afraid of heights so I wanted to challenge myself. I wasn't prepared for how much fun this was and the different perspective from these heights. We went to 7 platforms. I believe they have made it longer now with more platforms but once was enough for me. :) This is my niece who is fearless about most things in life. She is only 12 years younger than me and I love her to pieces.

    murraysmom, where did you zipline?

Here's a photo of our zipline experience on Maui

This was the last line of the day, which ended near the beach. The rest was higher up, in the jungle. These are people we met on the tour.

raven...what kind of zebra is that. The stripes are "wonky".

I was told when traveling: There are two species of Zebra in Southern Africa, the Plains or Burchell's Zebra and the Mountain Zebra. As the names suggest they occur in vastly differing habitats, although they are known to occur together in places where plains and mountains overlap. A third species, the Grevy's Zebra is found in East Africa.

I want to thank everyone for adding their photos to the past 26 days. It has been fun to see what others have 'created'. I found some things that I hope to post in future alphabet series.

Lars, I live in Cincinnati and the zip line is near Ft. Ancient State Park in Oregonia, OH about 1/2 hour from my house. It's called Ozone Zipline Adventures.

I bet your experience was a very cool one. There wasn't any "wildlife" save one house cat, to be seen during our trip but others in our group told of their experiences in other places and seeing lots of birds and even monkeys depending on where they were.

We saw lots and lots of birds in Costa Rica as well as monkeys, etc.

There is also a zipline on Catalina now, but we've not been to that one - it's a bit expensive. I would have to guess that ziplining in Ohio is probably seasonal.

I don't think they told us anything about the zebras. This was at the bayou wildlife zoo. I love the zebras! 🦓

Guide told us about the two kinds of zebras while on an African photo safari. Zoo director from here led the trip. There were 8 of us that went.

Lars, I've camped on Catalina. Zip lining could be interesting there. Wild boars came to our campsite, rummaged through some of our stuff and also buffalo came walking right past our tent!!! A trip I will never forget.

I checked Ozone and it said they will go from March 31 through December! Could be kind of cool to zip line in the snow. They do a night zip line tour as well. Wild stuff!

Love love this sharing group we have. So enjoy this thread!

I camped on Catalina also, but I don't remember any wild boars - I was not aware that they lived there. I did see buffalo on a bus tour of the island, but our campsite was walking distance from Avalon, just down the hill from the botanical gardens, and so it might have been more civilized than where you camped.

When we lived in Venice, we could ride our mountain bikes from our house on the bike routes to a ferry dock in Marina Del Rey to catch a seasonal ferry to Catalina and then have our bikes on the island while we were there, which we liked, but we never took a bike tour of the entire island, as the mountains were way too steep.
