Thanks for all of the input!!! It sounds like a pendant may not be in my future. I loved the idea of it but as I was looking at it more, I was worried that there might be too much going on there. I was having second thoughts and wanted to get opinions from all of you. Holly-Kay: we are planning on changing out the chandelier above the table to a bronze finish to tie in with the darker wood and fireplace things. But I see how a pendant above the sink might be too much. Snookums2: we removed the dark screens and it looks much better. I can't wait for everything to get started! I thought about tiling to the ceiling but wasn't sure since our cabs don't go to the ceiling. We are going to add a taller crown but nowhere near ceiling height. That may be the subject of another post. Nosoccermom: great idea about hanging a balloon. I don't have photoshop but maybe I could cut and paste something there and post again. The Bedford would work better with your space. Your space is really light all over right now, so anything you change may seem heavy or dark at first, but it really isn't. It is just a more updated look, so try to add some accessories to bring some of the darker metal to other areas so it all relates.

My previous home was backed up by the high school parking lot, not very pretty and much activity. With only a 6 foot fence allowed for separation, I planted a row of Ligustrums grown a tree to branch out at the fence top. They grew fast and made a dense screen. My problem with them was the amount of mess they made with droppings on the paved area and the roots were massive and close to the surface, that prevented even the most aggressive plants from growing under them on my side of the fence. Here I have planted Rhus integrifolia as a screen with much better results. They require no care or water at all, make little mess, and I can grow pretty much what I want under them. They grow very fast, are native, require very little width, and easily reach 20 feet, with only an occasional lateral branch requiring removal. Al
