Sherwin Williams White Paint for Interior Doors
Comments (4)It's usually best to choose the right color of white for interior trim and doors based on existing window casing color, plantation shutters (if there are any), existing white cabinetry, toilet, tub, counter top color. Those elements inform which color of white is the right one. There isn't a color of white that just magically goes with everything. With that said, Sherwin Williams Extra White is a nice, clean but not too stark color of white. Just be careful it doesn't make the color of any fixed element look dingy....See MoreSherwin Williams Antique White color in Pittsburgh Paints
Comments (3)PPG does not have a decent equivalent for SW 6119 Antique White. Chris is right, the color can be matched in PPG paints - they should be able to match this one pretty well, probably spot-on....See Morec2 paint matches in Sherwin Williams paint
Comments (10)Professionally finished cabinets are done in an opaque conversion varnish. Calling that “paint” is like calling your kids go kart an Indy car. Yeah, the’re both open wheel vehicles. No further similarities exist. If this guy doesn’t finish his products in house, with a conversion varnish, you don’t need to use him. Period. Your contractor is a hack by extension of even recommending this route. Professionally Finishing cabinets is 40-60% of the total cost of the cabinets. In other words, what you paid for the cabinets, get ready to write that same check to a pro finisher. Properly Finishing is just as much work as making them. Or more, if you want paint and glaze. Average for a standard 12x12 kitchen, redo, is 7-9K. Bigger kitchens are more. Taller cabinets are more. More details are more. Glazed are more. Islands are always more. Custom colors are more. And that’s with the doors done off site in a clean room, as they should be. All brand new cabinets should be coated in a clean room with a conversion varnish, by the maker, or his specialty finisher. See why I say he is a hack woodworker? A true custom cabinet maker controls the entire process, from lumber purchase through the installation in your home. He doesn’t allow some hack housepainter with a spray gun to ruin all his hard work....See MoreSherwin-Williams Alabaster white paint help!!!!
Comments (11)Lori A. Sawaya, I can't thank you enough for your time. I really truly appreciate it and your knowledge is Way Beyond mine. So thank you. Unfortunately, we have already met with the painter 3 times and we did view large samples up against the Alabaster. She suggested Pure White. I was torn between High Reflective white and Extra White. To be fair, she has given me ample time to make my decision but I just came across all this new color information too late in the game. I'm really down to deciding between one of the Sherwin-Williams whites. I spoke with her and she said the extra white has already been purchased. I already changed on her once because I first decided on High Reflective White. She let me change because she had another project that she said she could use it on for....someone who was painting their she shed and just wanted it any color white. She said she could be willing to swap out for that, but that's all she can do for me now. If she has to go get new paint for me again, I would have to pay for both colors even though I would only be using the one. I truly appreciate all of your time that you have taken to answer this question for me. Unfortunately, this time I waited too long and I'm just going to have to try to decide between the High reflective and the Extra White at this time....See Morewdccruise
