what cabinet color goes w black stainless steel appliances
Comments (33)It's the "black glaze" part that I'd eliminate. Glazing like that has a tendency to make the cabinet just look shabby and old. There's enough going on with the gray stain on the wood, no need for glaze too. You also better make sure you will be comfortable with the variegations in the wood which will come to the surface with that wash. See on the sample pic you posted of the Snowbank door how the vertical, horizontal, and center panel pieces look so different from each other? Make sure you see it IRL and imagine that all over your kitchen. Some people--maybe you--might say "how charming, I love that". Others might not. Comments (24)SS is an upgrade from black for most people. Most models don't look industrial, and finger prints are easy enough to manage, they even make smudge proof appliances now. Lots of people upgrade one at a time, the mismatch is only really an issue at resale or if you're personally offended by it. You've heard all the pros and cons about black SS so now it's up to you if you want to take the gamble or not. Good luck....See MoreKitchen appliance color New Matt black or stainless steel
Comments (9)Not a pro here, but I have heard that this is not a uniform finish among manufacturers, so if you want your appliances to match, you will need to buy them all from the same manufacturer. Also, there are some maintenance issues. Apparently the black finish is placed over a stainless steel base and if your surface is scratched, the silver color shows. From an aesthetic point of view, I think your kitchen cabinets are beautiful and black appliances would distract from them. So, I affirm my “vote” for silver stainless steel! But then....I am just one opinion! Good luck!...See MoreStainless Steel vs Black Appliances
Comments (11)I have had both with an oak kitchen . I liked the black but replaced with stainless. Right now your appliances still read as stainless or black. my only caution would be this. Make sure you get the same finish and style on your fridge as it is right beside your stove. Black can come in very shiny ( so hard to keep clean), matte , black stainless, pebbled ( easy to keep clean and not as shiny)etc. You want them to coordinate as much as possible. Even having the same type of handle will be important to coordinate your kitchen. Look through the photos on houzz for wood kitchens with the various appliances and you will get a better sense....See MoreDamon A
