Can you help me with display of these plates on my wall please?
Comments (27)Okay, so it seems vertical is the way to go. I put two of the round papers up again, centering between the two points shown. It may be off a little, depending on the angle. I have found that if I don't center them more between these two points that the plates are not easily viewed from the living area, which looks off to me. Remember, the paper plate that is missing is the one up above, but pretend it's there. It's just too high to place right now without a ladder. But... they now look like they are hung too far left when you look at the entire wall that extends further right down the stairs. The light switch would have to be painted, so it doesn't stand out like a sore thumb, but still the one plate is really close to the white trim piece on the left. Horizontally, I did not line the middle plate up with the trim, as was suggested, so the bottom place is cut off, or bisected, by the railing. The reason I did it this way was because it seems like when viewing from the living area that the top plate should be higher on the wall. I have a lot of height on the other side of the room with the windows, so it just seems like the plates should be placed higher. I may be wrong, and please tell me if you think I am. Opinions now? Am I making this harder than it needs to be?...See MorePlease Help me in finding a fire place for my living room media wall??

Comments (6)Check out Dimplex.com, they have many electric fireplace units as well as many fireboxes to choose from and mount on the wall. You can most likely find a local dealer to see in person. We recently had a custom light natural maple credenza made from an Amish company and had a Dimplex firebox installed in it. It needs no special venting because the hot air blows out the front into the room but it does require a separate line due to the heat fan (if you don't use the heat fan, then maybe you won't need the separate line). We have clear glass beads on the bottom of the firebox and it is essentially an LED light show! We actually have a wall mount firebox installed in a piece of furniture. http://dimplex.com/en/fireplaces/wallmounts We never thought we'd use the heat element, but we have used it once or twice and it works great. Honestly, we are so happy with our finished product, decorating our FL condo is still a work in progress, but here is what we have so far. I know its not really what you're looking for, but just an FYI. I wish the pic would show off the flame/lights as they really look, we think they're beautiful....See MorePlease help me identify my wall type
Comments (6)I should tell you I no longer even try doing my own drywall work eventhough I've observed pros doing all phases countless times. Heck,I'm not even postive that's sheetrock in the pics but that's what it look's like. I give you those disclaimers in inticipation of your next questions. Mud is slang for joint compoud and floating is the act of filling holes and scratches with something so that intire surface become's level. Something in this case would probably be said joint compound. With that out of the way I'll let someone else tell you which hand and at what angle the tool should be used in. Perhaps reading about it will help me more than all the times I watched and I might tackle a room my self. (;...See MoreCelery. Visualization, Rendering images
