I would leave it the same as the siding. Otherwise, it may make the windows feel too close to the roof. 4" trim would be nice. It will let you remove the too small shutters and give a more modern look. I would avoid the corner trim-it tends to break up a house into smaller feeling segments. Keep it the same as the siding and paint the downspouts to match. I prefer the gray blue color to the flatter gray. It doesn't feel as one-dimensional.

Thank you Katinparadise! My husband likes the pacific blue too but I think it’s quite dark hence wanting the white corners and trim to “lighten” it up a bit. But I’m also worried the white will make it “pop” instead of lightening the look!

Thank you little bug! Yes, we’re doing away with the shutters and doing the 4 inch trim on windows and garage. I think any larger than 4 inch trim with how short our house is would look like too much trim?

4" is pretty beefy size trim. Try cutting out a piece of white poster board 4" wide and holding it up to one of the windows to see what you think. I think you'll have enough white trim so the blue won't seem so dark. You could also add a nice brushed nickel light over the garage and next to the door as well as using larger brushed nickel house numbers to add a bit more brightness. Then pick a really fun color for the front door like a raspberry or lighter green tone to help the front door stand out.

We are loving the Pacific Blue color so far, here are some poor pictures. It is pouring the rain here so a little darker than normal.

We had a hard time deciding on the white or blue corners but chose white as the majority of homes around here that we like have the white corners. We are using Certainteed Supercorners and also the Versatex 4” window lineals as we wanted to lighten up the blue some.

They are still in the process of getting the siding on, mainly working under the covered porches due to rain. We chose the blue inside corners to not chop it up too much.

Katinpatadise - That’s a good idea about cutting a 4 inch piece around the windows. we don’t want to have to paint anything (hence the vinyl) so we won’t paint the downspouts. We might try placing them at the side of the house though. Thanks for your help!

Thank you brad knox! Your house looks great. I’ve not seen much pacific blue around here (CT). Is there much where you are? What do you mean by blue inside corners? I only see white corners? Are you doing a white door?

Hey abascot, we were waiting on the inside blue corners that are are also Pacific Blue, the builder ordered white inside corners so I held us up a few days getting the blue ones in. Pictures of the back porch actually show the white inside corner, stopped them as soon as I noticed it, thankfully that was the only one they installed.

I think the white inside corners break it up too much. I’m starting to see more blue houses going up in my area, some similar to mine, a lot of baby blue ones also.

Forgot the door, I’m doing a black door, the smaller windows will also have black shutters
