Did I choose the wrong window color?!?!
Comments (6)I agree, It looks very nice. Although 80+% of all the windows we install are white I think it does a disservice to the home in a lot of cases. After you get all your trim done come back and post a photo...See MoreDid I choose wrong side of living room to mount TV / add A.V hookups
Comments (5)You can hide wires, or probably snake cables through to get them where you want them, or get wireless system in total. If I am reading the drawing correctly, this room is only 11'-5" wide? So, I don't think that is sufficient space for putting walkway behind the sofa. Sofas are typically at least 36" deep and consoles are 16-18" deep. You need at least 7' from TV for viewing probably further is better depending on size of TV and you need 3' for a walkway. 3+3+4+1.5, means tight. I would put the TV on the opposite wall. You will have some traffic, but I wouldn't let that be my limiting factor. The lines of sight to the TV would be much better with the TV on the opposite wall. So, think about it. You could put boxes up in the configurations (i.e. simulate sofa and tv console in each configuration) and see how it feels from a volume and traffic point of view. I would definitely go for TV on the opposite wall. More room for coffee table and a couple of extra chairs. That might help you decide....See MoreDid I choose the wrong color? Comments (10)the wall color is very yellow. the counters are a cool gray the floors/cabs are a warmer red tone. what are you trying to accomplish ? the one thing that needs to go is the wall color. (or get a diff color countertop) paint the walls a neutral white or some lighter, warmer gray color. (not a blue gray)...See MoreDid I go with the wrong colour?
Comments (12)If you try to match the floors you will have the same problem in fact, it might even look worse because they are a lighter color and it will be more obvious. You can try a paint visualizer on the Sherwin Williams website. Wood has variations of many different colors and stripes. A solid color will never give you the same look. The lighter you go the worse it will look, especially when matching wood with yellow and orange tones such as yours. I have similar color wood floors and painted my staircase black, risers treads and all. If you go with black then you will want a runner. It is dramatic but sometimes a little drama is nice....See MorePatricia Colwell Consulting
