Door Trim and paint problem - advice welcome
Comments (2)Fine Paints of Europe has a product called brushing putty that might work. It is a primer that fills in wood grain, like oak, and conceals minor nicks and dents. I've never used it, but there are posts and pictures on this site from people who have used it...and from the photos, it looks like it creates a smooth surface. There is a post that gave tips on application, sanding, it also includes some photos. Type "brushing putty" into the search box for this paint forum to find the thread from jeannema. Sorry, I don't know how to copy the link to this post. I will warn you--the brushing putty is very expensive! Everything from Fine Paints of Europe is expensive. You can get more info about their product at: http://www.finepaintsofeurope.com/brushing_putty.aspx#description...See MoreTime to add siding (stone, wood, plaster) and paint. Ideas welcome!
Comments (9)Make the garage door the same color as the brick. It is the wall, not a focal point. If you put up cedar, please stain it either redwood(which does fade)or maybe a walnut or pecan stain. If you do that, than you can paint your front door or you can stain it to match the siding, and add some really nice hardware and a brass or stainless steel kickplate and update your exterior porch light and garage sconces to a style you like that is complimentary. If you paint the front door, than use a slightly lighter shade on the eaves probably so you don't give your home heavy eyebrows? Think slightly lighter tones since your brick is so pretty. The cedar idea is very pretty. Just wonder if making the eaves or overhang dark is the best option or if you would tire of it quicker. ?? Either way, you are way ahead not removing the brick if it is in good shape and just changing the siding and paint trims. Really nice home!!...See MoreJust purchased this home, paint colour ideas welcome.
Comments (7)Agree with Miss Denita. :-) I think the house looks great the way it is, since changing the roof color isn't gonna happen. :-) You have a lot of opportunities for beautiful landscaping. Are those trees, or large shrubs, on either side of the photo? I'd start by limbing those up, if you don't want to remove them entirely. They look a bit heavy and they lack grace. ;-) A landscape designer/architect/garden planner would love to work with your space, I think. Request that they use your favorite color in abundance. ;-)...See MoreNew house with funky kitchen - suggestions welcome!
